Was Carver's Model Changed? Troy?
Was "Troy" supposed to be Carver? Did TT change his model and other things for some reason? Or is this "Troy" just another person knocking at the door? And what about Matthew and Walter? Walter was seen in the trailer, but now I'm starting to wonder if the group consisting of Troy, Johnny, Matthew and Walter are completely separate from Carver...

I don't think so because he is also in the slide, I think he was just a place holder so Carver wouldn't be spoiled so early

Exactly what @Cart_hero_2010 said, it is most likely he was just a placeholder to prevent people from seeing the REAL Carver.

Troy maybe comes to the cabin at some other time because in the picture it looks like Clem has opened the door and if you notice in the trailer Carver opens the door before she has a chance to even touch it. I might be wrong (and I probably am) but just something small I thought I noticed.
He may come to warn them Carver is coming, whilst the group is gone, (in the trailer it's only Clem) Carver shows up
Im sure Troy will be a real character, Someone from Carver's group but they obviously just put him in the trailer to replace Carver And Troll fans (Once again)

If that were true, then the screen of ep 2 would change when the achievement update kicks in (already had a update couple of days ago, for xbox atleast ; nothing changed). But I doubt it. I think telltale miss lead us again with their trailer in ep 1 since it seemed nobody was in the house when carver came in.
Maybe troy would knock before carver knocks, then the group hides or something then that's when carver comes later on. Maybe troy was warning clementine and the group.

I have to admit, Telltale was pretty smart for putting Troy's model instead of Carver's. Otherwise Carver's identity would have been spoiled long ago.

It's heavely implied that the guy on the door is Carver. If they had used it earlier we would know Carver's model because of the people that hacked the game. But no, not much of a big diference really.

First off, player feedback does change the next episode. This is no secret. Never has been. Secondly, the trailer does not show Carver from that angle. It just shows someone knocking at the door, Clem goes to it, opens it, and Carver comes through. Who knows what else happens at that door in the rest of the episode.

Keep in mind that what you see in the preview back in December and what you see now is way different. Remember back in the preview for episode 3 where Christa and Omid were with other survivors and then it turns out they weren't and that scene never happened?
Troy was just a placeholder for Carver, Telltale wanted to keep him a secret.
