The Living Dead
As a fan of the comics and a general hater of the TV show, I decided to try out writing my own adaption of the Walking Dead, with a few differences.
New characters- alongside the general characters featured in the comics, I will also try to write in some additional characters from Walking Dead lore, including Lee and Clementine from the video game.
More realistic script- The TV show features so much overrated dialogue, so I will try to write a script that sounds and feels like something someone would say in the present situation. If I have to, I would even let the actors ad-lib some of their scenes.
Realistic survival situation- in both the comics and the TV show, the characters always seem to have access to guns and ammo and are able to shoot any walker they come across. The only problem is that a) in a zombie apocalypse, guns and ammo would probably be the first to go, and b) the usage of guns kind of disses the whole "don't make load noise" rule present in the whole series. For my adaption, guns would be incredibly rare, making the survivors focus more on melee or other ranged options. And if guns are used, then they will either have supressors or shot rarely.
Movie References- I'm pretty sure given the general popularity of zombie flicks, people will at least be familiar with some of the movies in the apocalypse. So in the script I will include spoken references from various movies, such as movie rules, cliches, and lines. (Zombieland rules will probably be shown).
Fast Zombies- while the slow zombies featured in the comics and show are intimidating, I personally think the fast zombies are more realistic and more frightening. I will still keep some qualities of the Walking Dead zombies, such as destroying the brain, great hearing, sense of smell, and how you don't need a bite to turn.
So what do you guys think of these adaption? Should I add some things to make it better, or should I remove something? Please let me know in the comments below.

nice sounds awsome
In general I think this is fine, but come on, fast zombies? It wouldn't be the "Walking" dead if you had fast zombies. It's not always about realism.
literally the same reaction I had. I also don't see why fast zombies would be any more "realistic". Zombies themselves aren't realistic, so isn't it kind of ridiculous to say fast zombies are the more "realistic" ones?
Fast zombies are and always have been fucking stupid.
No movie references either. Please, for the love of GOD no movie references.
...Movie references? how about no....Fast zombies? how about no... Lee and Clem? DEFINITELY no, keep their story to the game.
About the negative comments regarding this project, let me make some things clear.
1.When I say fast zombies, I mean FASTER zombies. They will not be sprinters like in 28 days later, but they will perform a staggering and slow run. Because of this increase in speed, I am changing the title to the LIVING Dead to avoid confusion.
In regards to the idea of Lee and Clementine being in this adaption, I am not going to make them direct central characters. I will probably try to write a small cameo or at least give them a minor appearance. (similar to Spider-man in the Avengers TV show).
I'll cut the movie references seeing how ridiculous it would make the adaption.
Faster zombies would only exist in zombies that have not died. If they are dead, they become stiff and rot. It is hard to move if they don't have as much tissue like muscle and if the tissue straightens out hard as a rock.
To me slow moving zombies are much more frightening, there is something fascinating about slow clumsy looking creatures.
I wouldn't mind faster zombies. Like a slow jog for fresh zombies and the more they deteriorate the slower they are.
After all the negative comments about the zombies, I've decided to scrap the faster zombie idea. Are there any other ideas you guys have in mind.
Previously...on the running dead. (you know because they are fast:)
As I said, the fast zombie idea was scrapped. I will keep my original title idea, which will be called the LIVING DEAD
