Other zombie games?

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

Other than The Walking Dead, what other zombie games to you play/recommend? Somewhat silly to ask when episode two is only three days away...

I really like Zafehouse Diaries but it's soooo hard that it's frustrating...

The Last Stand flash games are really good too.

Granted, it's a little hard to judge when I'm playing off what was the cheapest laptop in the store over three years ago... Honestly I'm shocked The Walking Dead works...

  • The Last of Us and Left 4 Dead 2.

  • Resident evil

  • The Walking Dead-Survival Instinct! (just kidding)

  • I maed a game with zombies in it!!!

  • Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare

  • Anything iOS?

  • Plants vs Zombies!

  • I actually found that piece of crap useful when killing time.

The Walking Dead-Survival Instinct! (just kidding)

  • The Last of Us is not really considered a zombie game, it's more of a survival/action-adventure type of game. But would I recommend it? Oh yeah. I would also recommend Left 4 Dead 2, Killing Floor, Dead Island, and Resident Evil 5.

    • Dayz is a pretty good survival simulator, albeit a buggy one. The game's strength lies within its player interactions, in my opinion. It's also multiplayer only, and there is a standalone version in early release alpha on Steam, or there's the Arma 2 mod version.
    • Project Zomboid is in early release alpha on Steam as well. It's an 8-bit looking sandbox game, and the official description on steam says, "Project Zomboid is an open-ended zombie-infested sandbox. It asks one simple question – how will you die?" I hear that it's quite good, but also pretty buggy atm. It also doesn't have multiplayer yet.
    • Dead Island series wasn't what I'd call stellar, but for some fun co-op zombie killing it's not bad. It's also probably pretty cheap now.
    • The Last of Us was already mentioned, but that is by far your best bet.
    • I wasn't a huge fan of Left 4 Dead, but like dead island, it can be a fun co-op kill fest.
    • State of Decay is similar in concept to Dayz, but is only singleplayer. I haven't play it, but a friend told me it was "decent."

Tldr: Dayz, Project Zomboid, Dead Island, The Last of Us, Left 4 Dead, State of Decay.

  • Piece of crap is a nice summary for this game. That's pretty much what it is!

  • And I own this piece of crap.

Piece of crap is a nice summary for this game. That's pretty much what it is!

  • I loved that game! Best DLC ever! (and second best game ever...after the Walking Dead ofc:)

  • L4D 1 and 2...

  • Undead Nightmare (DLC for Red Dead Redemption) was awesome! also Resident evil, the old versions. The new ones are more adventure based games and not in the same zombie survival style the old ones were

  • 'Siren' is fairly good. It's a survival horror with a cult-like/religious theme, but other than that, the "Shibito" basically act as zombies.

  • zombie games are a lot,but you will get bored because all you do is killing zombie with no need of food or water or hiding or even a good story to make you want to continue playing

  • State of Decay's pretty good, gotta get the Breakdown DLC for it to make it really good. Dead State is looking good although it's only in early access atm, it's looking like Fallout 2 but with zombies instead of mutants.

dead frontier was a fun little game that had my attention for awhile. biggest problem i have with it is they delete ur char for a month of inactivity. so, everytime i get into a big mmo, i gotta start over if i go back.
