Clementine's REAL Dilemma

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

What if Clem is stuck in a quandary? Clem was almost certain that Carver was nothing, but a malevolent being. Suddenly, Luke leaves the cabin group behind to join Carver for an unknown reason. An unexpected turn of events. The person who Clem trusted the most and favored out of the whole cabin group just aligned himself with the man who she thought was nothing, but trouble. Clementine is in the center of this conflict. Who will she choose and for what reasons?

Will she choose Luke? Her savior. The one who accepted her to the cabin group and emotionally attached himself to her. Her defender, her knight and shining armor when she needs one. Selfless, always putting her problems before his. She believes that they make quite a team. If there was anyone left in this unscrupulous world that she could trust the most, it's Luke. Where would she be if it wasn't for him?

Will she choose the cabin group? Even though it took awhile, they started to grow on her. She's finally feeling like she's starting to belong. Even though it may not be the same as the original group, it's a group nevertheless. She feels like she could trust this group and the group are starting to prove that they have her back.

Some of these character/group descriptions are predictions for episode 2.

I love the fact that you really wrote this thread...after someone asked you to do it in the troll thread. Much apreachiated. Thank you!

Now to answer your question...first of all i see no reason for Luke to join Carvers group, but i gues that's not part of the discussion and also i wanna point out that good old uncle Pete is as much of an heroic savior as Luke is. If Luke would decide the join Carvers group though, i don't think Clem would be joining him. Clementine knows Carver is a dangerous and evil man.

  • Haha, no problem. It took me a lot longer than I expected, but I finally finished. Anything I can do to contribute on these foru... I mean community.

  • This would be great ;)

  • This is easy. I would choose Luke because the cabin group considers Clementine a liability and a drain on their resources. Luke considers Clementine a human being, maybe even more.

  • I would stick with the Cabin group for a bit longer. There's no one in the group I trust enough for me to stay with them for as long as possible, but I'm not going to be friends with Luke if he wants to associate with thugs.

I think I would go with Luke due to him being one the first to treat Clementine as an actual human being. After sticking a little girl in a shed with no bedding whatsoever, I doubt I will ever have any permanent loyalty towards the other cabin members, even if I did start to get along with them. I understand why they did that, but they could have at least made sure she was as comfortable as possible. The only character that could hold me back from leaving is Pete, and that is if he survives.

How do you know Carver is a thug? For all you know the cabin group could be the wicked. Nick and Rebecca wanted to execute a defenseless little girl. Carlos put a little girl in the shed which means he's a bad doctor or he put Clem in the shed so she can die and she won't be their problem. Alvin is a coward. Pete is dead. Sarah is probably left oblivious for a reason.

You rather be stuck with distrustful Carlos, cowardly Alvin, bitchy Rebecca, incompetent Nick, and oblivious Sarah?

I thought the example assumes we've gotten to know the others better and developed somewhat amiable relations with them. Luke would just be the one we're most connected to. In that event, it depends on my gut feeling about Carver and my evaluation of Luke at that point. If the latter's reasoning isn't sound or Carver is too shady for my tastes, Luke and I will split ways.

  • Currently I get along reasonably with everyone in the group, bar Rebecca. However if they give Clem an unloaded gun like the trailer implies then any potential loyalty I had for them vanishes.
It rests on what happens in ep 2, Carver might make a very good case for himself and the cabin group might screw us over. Were that to happen and Luke defected, then yeah I'd defect with him.

  • And here it is!

I don't have much imput on the situation besides saying I would go with Luke in a heart beat if the characters and situation hadn't changed. If we learn Carver is't a bad person / is a bad person, get attached to other characters at the cabin, and/or have a falling out with Luke then any number of these (and more) could all change my perspective and mayhaps my final decission.

Thanks again for making the thread :D

  • Clem knows what the cabin group has told her. A rather bias opinion, no?

NEVER side with the majority ever. because in most cases they are brainwashed just like the masses in this "reality". theres this quote i once heard, not spot on but heres the gist of it: " It doesnt take much to join the crowd, but it takes everything to stand alone"

  • So what you're saying is...... ITYWDG isn't Kenny.

  • I'd rather side with Megatron.

  • That's be a pretty damn good ally to have in the zombie apocalypse.

  • My Clem doesn't really think Luke is some kind of knight or a hero. She has no reason to trust him. So if he leaves a cabin group right now, not telling even one word - Clementine hates him. But if something important happenes and that's why he wants to leave them - she will probably go with him (I will decide wether or not I can trust him during e2)

  • id rather side with David Icke

  • WAIT... HE JOINED CARVER??????

  • HE WONT JOIN CARVER. Why you ask? Well when Carver catches everyone at the lodge he says that they shouldnt have followed Luke, implying that he was their new leader. Also you can say that their old leader, Pete, died and knew Luke would replace him(Luke's VA says this in the Playing Dead episode).
