I didn't like the " Kenny puts Ben out of his misery " ending. Kenny could just have shot Ben instead of staying down there in the alleyway and shoting him 1minute later. He didn't need to stay down there and die/escape whatever happened to him. The " Kenny saves Christas life " ending was alot better in my eyes. He put the life of an other person above his own life and redempt himself. ( he did get his redemption at the Ben ending to, i am just saying it was kinda stupid for him to stay down there when he could just have shoten Ben in the first place)
I feel like in the Ben ending, he had NO reason to lock himself down there other than to die purposefully. That's why it wouldn't make sense (in my eyes) for him to be the ITYWD person. Balcony is still the antagonist, though.

That's exactly what i meant. In the " Kenny saves Christa " ending, Kenny dies/or escapes a heroic death/or escape. In the Ben ending he just sacrifiesed himself for no reason. But yes the Balcony is the true Antagonist that's for sure!:D

If they didn't took the food from the Station Wagon they would've been less heavy because they wouldn't had anything to eat and the balcony would still be there!
I blame FOOD
She saw Michelle was unarmed. She could've reached for her gun, or just not left it out in the open. It's INDIRECTLY her fault. The same as their deaths were INDIRECTLY caused by Ben. It's just because Ben made more mistakes than most.
I do blame Clem, she fucked up big time. This was backed up by Christa's later actions/inactions towards her.
BUT Ben was older, should have had a better realization of what his actions would do, and was down right dumb on more than one ocassion.
I also blame Clem for the indirect deaths of others in S1, but.... she was 9?... Ben was, about 17 I would guess, and was a pathetic excuse for a near adult. If Ben were 13 or so then I would have been more leanient with my opinions of him, but as Pete said "You gotta grow up sometime," and Ben obviously never did.
Why does no one ridicule Clem for Omid's death?

Ben messed up a lot. But he tried. It wasn't good enough, but he apologized countless times and tried to make up for it.
Regardless, despite their being more bad actions on his behalf, people overlook the good actions such as:
Almost always coming with Lee to help Clem (if he wants it)
Telling them it's not the bite that does it
Picking up Lee's gun in the house (he's resourceful)
Recognizing his mistakes. In Crawford, he hated himself so much that he WANTED Lee to drop him. His self hatred was equal to if not greater than the hatred Kenny felt for him.

If you don't stop fucking up eventually "I'm sorry" is just hollow words. Ben was long past that point.
He felt it was required for fucking up so much! At least he knew he was a fuck up, but he was still a fuck up. Everyone else you can talk into going also, so this means very little.
He gave them info to save his ass, that was nice of him. (Please don't respond to this with 'well he stil told them'... it was a completely self-invested act.)
Even a hobo finds a 20 every now and then. I'll give him petty points I guess.

Took long enough? He knew he was a fuck up from the beginning. He just wasn't suicidal at that point.
In response to your first point, Kenny wont come with you if you don't please him all the time (unless you choose that specific dialogue choice, even then, he refuses to come if Ben does) and yet people don't hate on him. Let's not forget, the reason Kenny has to sacrifice himself if you drop Ben is because he made Lee drop the radio. Kenny fucks up too, but no one cares if Mr. Godlike Stache screws up.
Regardless, Ben is a total fuck up, and I get why people dislike him, but he gets way more hate than needed seeing as everyone else fucks up and Ben is just an easy target to hate. Personally, I found Ben really annoying until his scene in the back yard of the house when he went crazy on Kenny. That was a great dialogue.
In response to your second point... Regardless of his reasons as to why he did it, they would probably be dead by zombie Larry if it wasn't for Ben.
He was useful throughout multiple times in the game. Despite him being a lot older than Clem, people seem to forget that he's still just a kid when he fucks up which is quite often.
Can we agree that Ben is a fuck up who tried?
I GET why he's hated on, but he gets more hate than he should, considering a lot of other characters don't get hate for others things. (If you need examples, i'll list them)

Wow wow hang on there I care when godlike stache messes up. I disagreed with him most of time hated him a few times but was okay with him at the beginning and end. Kenny screws up, Ben screws up, Lilly screws up, Larry screws up, Clem screws up and many more.

Soo what you saying is being suicidal is a good character trait? More petty point for him I guess from that perspective. Good for him for finally giving up!
Everyone fucks up sometimes, in real life and in the game. The difference is most people pick themselves up, dust themselves off, and do a better job. What did Ben do? He got knocked down and.... started licking the floor. (Metaphorically)
Ben is an easy target, and it's damn easy to hit. I have had conversations about how other characters have screwed up, their flaws and mistakes and annoying personality traits, but Ben by far takes the cake. And when you try to defend him it honestly just looks silly because it's like trying to defend a robber who smiled at the video camera. It's just derp all around! I, personally, think he gets just the amount of hate he deserves and was intended to have. That scene was pretty cool though, if he would have balled up like that earlier and made something out of it (refer back to Pete's quote) then perhaps I would have some honest respect for his character... but he didn't.
Or they would have checked the man for bites and vuala, revelation! Saying he saved them with that information is majorly speculative at best and as it sits (as I said before!!!) he only told them for self-invest reasons, there is no respect earned from a selfish act.... 'Oh you gave the hobo 100 dollars? That was nice of you! Oh, he had a knife to your throat? That changes things...' <~~ obviously the situation is slightly different since the hobo was the aggresor but the message is the same.
In many cultures children rise to adulthood at about the age of 14. He was an adult (or very, very nearly one) sooo..... no.
I can agree he was a fuck up who failed miserably and tried a select few times. That's about it
I don't need examples. As I've said before I have had multitudes of conversations about other characters faults etc etc. He deserves the hate imo, sorry.
Congrats on the likes bud )
EDIT: Scratch that thing I said about the hobo example beingly slightly different... it actually fits pretty damn well

He is saying Gravity caused Omid to break his leg.
I however disagree and feel that it is Bridge's fault, who is actually Balcony's Uncle.
I guess they just can't find peace and can't stop blaming things. Sooooo
BULLSHIT NO FREAKING WAY
F*ckBalcony

Well, depends on how you played... BUT if you pushed Omid it's Lee's fault.
I didn't
RIPBen

C'mon guys, you know TTG they always want to make things more dramatic and surprise everyone. That's why I like 'em.

Matter is what inpaled Ben! Damn you matter!!
MATTERISTHEANTICHRIST
Balcony was framed.
BalconyTRUTH.com
Death by matter it shall be!
But no seriously, Ben deserves the ridicule and stupidity placed upon him. What a piss ant.
I can't take all this blame being given to everyone! To Ben! To Balcony! To Kenny! To Gravity!
I ADMIT IT! I KILLED BEN! ME!
Kenny's alive though so my conscience is moustache-murder clear.

I was just making a joke about you saying that Kenny could have just saved Ben with his moustache :P
SO both of them would be alive, I wasn't being serious
