First off, player feedback does change the next episode. This is no secret. Never has been. Secondly, the trailer does not show Carver from … morethat angle. It just shows someone knocking at the door, Clem goes to it, opens it, and Carver comes through. Who knows what else happens at that door in the rest of the episode.

I'm thinking that someone model-swapped Pete with Troy to get that image. It looks like the scene where Clementine, Pete and Nick are making their way to the river. HeadshotScout (a Youtube user) uploaded a video where he swapped Pete with Omid (Go to 2:37):
You'll notice that the lighting on Omid is very bright in comparison to Clementine. His model looks really out of place in the scene as a result. The Troy picture also has the same lack of atmospheric lighting.
Maybe they just shown Troy instead of Carver because of the spoilers. I mean, Troy and Carver have very similar models and face traits on purpose I guess, maybe they are from the same family or something.
