What was your reasoning for saving...

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

Pete or Nick? For example, I saved Nick not because Pete was bit, but because out of the two I sympathised with his character more due to me being in his position once (lost a parent, was hardened by it, etc). I've noticed that a lot of people in this forum seem to view him as incompetent, but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. Although I have a feeling that he's going to hate me for it.

Oh, and I apologise in advance if there is a thread already made about this. I haven't seen one yet. And in light of 'A House Divided' coming out tomorrow, I thought it'd be nice if everyone could review/explain their choices here before it does.

  • I saved Pete because he was basically the only one who trusted me since the moment we met and gave me the benefit of the doubt not only that but he basically risked his own life to give me a chance, So Bitten or Not I felt I had to do the same for him otherwise I would have felt like shit this whole Season

  • Because Pete is a beast enough said

  • I also saved Pete. I figured Pete had more life experience and was more prone to making level headed decisions for the group.

  • They were my teo favourite charatchers from season 2 so far, so uit was hard for me.

I eded up saving Nick for two main reasons, first he was on the side of ther eiver where the house is, second he had more walkers on his side, so I thought Pete could make a run for it.

I saved Pete because I was sure Nick could run away, while Pete had been bitten, so he would need more support. If Nick didn't make it he would be incompetent but luckily enough he did :D.

I saved Pete, I figured that Nick would survive because he was on the side of the river closer to the house, and he had ammo, Pete on the other hand was on the far side of the river, was bitten, and was out of ammo. He needed more help. I would've saved Pete anyway though without all those factors because he was the one who helped Clem, vouched for her to the group, and was nice to her throughout the episode. I hope he makes it...

  • Yeah, I feel like crap for not saving Pete to be honest. In my second save file I saved him, but I just couldn't leave Nick for some reason in my first playthrough.

  • When a character saves my life, I'm inclined to do the same thing. Of it weren't for Pete and Luke. Clementine would be dead. Having said That, I wasn't sure if he was bit or not.

Still, I'm glad I saved him.

  • Saving Pete seems to be the right choice there not only did you owe it to him but Nick survives anyway so in the end even if Pete dies in Episode 2 we saved him from the worst death, Getting eaten by zombies

  • Yeah. Pete is DEFINITELY the best choice in my opinion. Ah, I'm so pumped for tomorrow! Even though I'm going to play it on Wednesday, I'm still pumped! =3

  • Yep even if he dies now I know I tried my best and returned the favor, Besides the fact that Nick is not gonna hate me for letting his uncle die

  • I saved Nick because I always try to be safe and Pete was already bitten&out of bullets.

It's been confirmed that Nick survives regardless? Yikes, I didn't know that. I wanted to give him a chance at life because I thought he would die, and I thought they didn't show Pete in the trailer because they didn't want to spoil his story line. But either way, I don't want to change my choice in my 'canon' save; it would ruin the immersion.

  • They haven't confirmed it but its the most likely scenario, Whats Really a mystery is whether Pete will survive the amputation or not

  • I decided to go to Nick because Pete appeared bitten and was out of ammo. He definitely was a cool dude and I'm thankful he rescued Clem and stood up for her but I didn't see what Clem could do to help him out in that situation.

  • I hope pete survives into episode 2 I mean when you have a conversation with pete about the buck he shot it gave you an option to talk and the game said "He'll remember that" so you would thing pete and nick would have a chance to talk in episode 2

  • Ah, I get it now. Interesting. I wonder if he'll end up being like Lee, or will he survive? They seem to be pushing the idea that it never works due to Clementine's negative outlook on amputation, but maybe they'll surprise us. Actually that reminds me; Pete said it worked for someone he knew. I wonder where Telltale is going with this.

  • Yeah Im hoping this goes down the Doug path in which even though half the player didn't save Pete he still manages to survive and be an important character

  • I really like both characters and Pete was bitten so no brainer. Nick has this sincerity that i really like.

  • I heard Telltale promised in an article that our choices will matter even more in this season, so here's to hoping for more story branching! If they don't change it up, it's going to be pretty predictable that Pete and Nick will eventually die regardless on who you save, like how the Doug/Carley arc went down. No matter what, both got shot at the same place in the same episode. It'd be worse if it ends up being like the save-Duck-or-Shawn choice.

I'm confident that they'll be original though! I hope I don't sound too negative, haha.

  • It was the heat of the moment, and i chose Nick, because he wasnt bit, even if he hated me for doing it.That just might be the foreshadowing of Pete saying of doing the role you have to do,even if your love ones hate you for it.

  • That's a good point. Telltale does love foreshadowing.

  • Oh does it run smooth there? And isn't it free or something? That's what I heard I think.

  • It's less money most of the time. The first Season is only 15$ I believe. Though... it does look worse and doesn't run as well, my experience with it anyway.

  • Free? Yeah Right Lol no the whole game is $20 and yes it runs smoothly there Telltale games run better on ios and PC than anything else this ios version has no glitches at all

  • That sounds nice...but in the summer my sister got it for free on her iPod. And you heard it's coming out 5th for Xbox and 6th for iOS... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
