If you go into the game and click on Episodes, it should be available to download there. Thanks to the user Bloody Eugene, I found this out. It's ridiculous how telltale don't even give us a warning that it's available off this site. It still just says coming soon
But we're discussing the non-steam release of the episode. Personally I just bought it via Gamefly as it was cheaper than Steam. The late release is rather annoying however.

For those having problems with the update, I'd say it could possibly be the steam server you've chosen! Northamerican servers could be overloaded with people downloading the game from it as of now. I located mine in brazilian servers, and it's actually faster than my own country's.

Should it be available through Telltale at this point? As I just get a message stating unable to download but I get the same message for episodes three to five. Not the other three episodes are available. So I'm unsure if the episode is up yet or due to congestion.
I started downloading 50 minutes ago on my 60MB/s download. Steam version would only be about 5 minutes, i'm at 80% now, so tomorrow it is!
I don't know why TT don't just let their users download it from a week before release, and then authenticate it a couple of hours before the steam release. That way, everybody is happy?
I had trouble downloading it on Steam, turns out, it doesn't work well on the beta version of Steam, what I had to do was delete the EXE file and verify the game files, then after that was done (3 minutes) it immediately started updating. So, at least it worked. Also, did anyone else's game crash a couple of times? Mine did about twice.

Basically if you buy from telltale you have to accept you will be playing a day after everyone else due to their massive technical ineptness. Its crazy beyond belief that this is the case, but its happened time and time again, and i'm sure will continue to happen.
Its a great way to reward their most loyal customers.

I'd like to know the answer to that too. The only reason I bought it from Telltale's site was because I believed the game would be available sooner for those customers. Grrrrrrr

You have to open the game up and download it from there.

I'm glad it works for you, but I've been checking the Episodes ingame menu every 10 minutes for 3 hours now and it's still 'coming soon'

Happened to me too. You just have to retry 2-3 times and it should download.
So it should be available as it still states coming soon in my copy.
My mistake was thinking this time it would be different.
The 'my games' section on TTG is updated for me now but still not the actual game.

Same for me. I don't really mind waiting, since I didn't realize until just now that it was supposed to be released, but it's still annoying.
Well an interesting alternative but I'm not spending £18 for something that will be available eventually. Frustrating sure though.
