Actually, my thoughts with Carver in the episode 3 previews is that we are going to see some shades of gray with him. I'm expecting several scenes that will show that perhaps he's not that bad of a guy and just wants to lead his people to survival; the things he's done have been horrible to say the least, but others have done far worse.
That being said, I by no means believe that image of him will last long, I just think Carver will be a little more complex than your average psychopath. This is something they did exceptionally well in the TV series with the Governor (as opposed to the ridiculous, dark for the sake of dark character he was in the comics). Many viewers felt sympathy for him and wished he would redeem himself before he shows his true colors and destroys his last chance for redemption. Walking Dead is always about what people do to survive and how everyone has a reason that makes them a little more humane than initially perceived.
I'm not going to say this theory is wrong, but I would be incredibly disappointed if that's the route they take with him. I get no such vibe from him and the previews seem to be hinting that Clem might realize that Carver is just trying to lead his people before his true demons come back in full force. Carver is proving to be a very interesting character and i hope they keep us guessing at just how bad he may or may not be; I believe though in the end, he will do worse things.
More like the idea that he is a pedophile when you have little to no evidence of that and the part in the 2nd point where you say Clem is afraid of his "love" (it just sounded creepy). I think Carver is a piece of shit as a person but also a hell of a character. I can't wait to see more of him.

Carver is a guy like Rick who does anything to protect his family... He slept with Rebecca and then she realized he is scared to let go. Perhaps carver has lost a girl and wants a new family and in Clementine he ses his dead daughter... Besides a 11 year old you can still "train" better then an adult in becoming your best partner/friend/family...
I am sure Rebecca never knew Alvin liked her till he admitted it to her and why she hopes he is the father of the child. I might go as far as to say she is Lee`s ex wife, its possible...
That would be... Interesting. It would certainly make for a unique villain in the Kirkman apocalypse. I don't think we have had any Cold Logic Villains before in the Kirkman apocalypse (they aren't insane in the normal sense- just logical to the point of super efficient and effective, but brutal amorality.). Negan and the Governer were definitely different shades of the violent-psycho-with-a-good-dream (or a good Lie) type of villains.
If the reason Carver wants Rebecca so badly is not because of emotional reasons (DAS MAH BABEY GAWD DAYMIT), and more for Cold Logic reasons, to populate/expand his community.
Although if I was Carver I would want a pretty god damn huge stable community before I started a breeding program to further expand the community, because that shit would be pretty risky and a resource strain in the walker apocalypse.

Sarah, on the other hand, may be one of the motivations for Carlos and the others to make a run for it if Carver was about to 'promote' her to brood mare.
What about Rebecca's baby? That was HIS I suppose and he made it obvious that he wants THEIR baby to be in a safety community stuff. Seems way off to me for a pedophile but more likely it's the Stranger's motive of being a new dad for Clemmy.
