Nick or Pete

Now that episode 2 is out and we know what happens to both of the characters from episode ones cliffhanger who do you think was the best person to go with. Am sticking with my boy Pete rest his soul. What do you guys think is the best choose

Comments

  • Pete got bit = CYA.

  • Nick, here is why.....When he asks why did you leave Pete, if you say "I trusted you" he will remember that. If you defend him when he shoots Matt, give him the watch, and are loyal to him, he will defend you at the dinner table

  • What do you mean defend you at the dinner table because in my game they fought but no one directly called me out or anything.

  • Pete, because he was out of ammo: Nick had ammo. If Nick died, it was on him. Pete needed the help more, bitten or not.

  • I dont remember because I played it on day 1, but I think when Kenny says "She's stayin" He will say "The fuck she is" or something like that

  • But now, I would go with Nick, seeing as he dies regardless

Nick. I'm glad I saved him because it gave me more time to get to know him and even his friendship with Luke better. I've got a deeper understanding about the both of them now. I also told him that I trusted him at the beginning of "A House Divided", which was true. I do. And apparently he will remember that. I hope that will liven him up in the future.

No doubt I sound like a broken record due to me always defending him here, but I understand why he was so "pissy". I've been through what he has, and I know I screwed up a lot back then. Nick lost his mother not too long ago from the sounds of it, and Pete just died as well, so I think he's been taking it pretty well considering how it he could have lost it a lot more than he did. In my opinion, this episode showed that he's not the Ben 2.0, and is actually a pretty good guy. He's got honesty which I like and a big heart that leads him into trouble, but those are his only faults in my eyes.

I guess you can say in some ways, he reminds me of Kenny.

Although I understand why some people don't like him, I myself do, and I'm holding Telltale on their promise that they would give us more story branching this season. I want him to live, even though he's technically become a determinant character twice over.

  • I think that happens every time but don't quote me on that.

I dont remember because I played it on day 1, but I think when Kenny says "She's stayin" He will say "The fuck she is" or something like that

  • In my Pete playthrough, he didn't

I think that happens every time but don't quote me on that.

  • I think the scene if you go with Pete is better than the scene if you go with Nick. You get to learn a little more about Pete's character.

But now, I would go with Nick, seeing as he dies regardless

  • Pete. Better hear the old mans last words instead of beeing trapped with a depressive drunk dude

  • Pete, because I think his character deserved a better payoff then getting unceremoniously devoured by the river. The conversation he has with Clem about not wanting to die is one of my favorites so far in Season 2, and finding him later when the group heads out for the mountains was pretty chilling. Also, I think Nick can become as endearing as he does if you go with him, since I promised Pete I'd look after him and Nick still gives the "I had to kill my mom" speech if you talk to him at the station house. Nick's reaction to finding Pete is pretty sad, too.

  • Nah, emotionally yes. But Nicks character development is more developed if you go with him, not to mention he takes out walkers with his fists

  • You still get the same character development even if you don't go with Nick. He tells you his back story at the bridge and you have the added bonus of wanting to keep him safe as a last request for Pete.

  • You only get the jist, he tells you more and he even opens up to you by offering you a drink, while I saved Pete, saving Nick seems better to me

As far as I know, there's one thing that Nick doesn't tell you if you don't go with him, and that's about his business partnership with Luke prior to Apocalypse. It's a good insight on the both of them since we don't know much. Please correct me if I'm wrong though. But to be fair, we still get some back story if you go with Pete, due to the fact that he was his uncle.

EDIT: Ignore this, he still does. I haven't finished my "saving Pete" playthrough yet, haha.

  • I thought he said "Hey, fuck you buddy." to Kenny when he asks Clem "What's with these guys?"

  • Thats after he said she is stayin

  • Whoops, thank you for letting me know!

  • Originally I went with Nick, as Pete was fucked either way but when I saw him get eaten a bit of me died. I went back and saved Pete hoping I could cut of his leg, or something! But as fun as sharing my first drink with Nick would be (i'll do that in my second playthrough!) for me, being with Pete, hearing his last words and promising to look after Nick was fantastic.
