Can a dialogue kill a character?
I mean, I understand that Nick can be saved if you tell the truth to Walter, but that Alvin will die if you choose a wrong answer is absurd!
Anyway, I managed to save him !

I don't understand.
Sry my bad english. I fixed it!
Choises man, that's life.
What are you asking, though? You already listed an example of dialogue having an effect on another character's survival (defending Nick to Walter), so the answer couldn't possibly be no.
Alvin will die if you don't protect him or if you let Kenny shoot for the 2nd time. Not because you pick a certain dialogue option.
Yeah, i know, but that Alvin die only because you said for example "Carver! NO!" and not "Kenny don't shoot!" is strange...
Ha! Alvin never died in my game! :DD I promises him to protect him for that juicy box
LoL man! XD...
Well, i keep my choises. I fail, and now I face the consequences... The game is this way!
However, i will do a second playthrough with Alvin alive! xD
If you put down Nick and tell Walter he's a bad guy, Walter then has a reason to let Nick die.
The choice to save Nick is right! Is Alvin's choice that I think is wrong! Because, if you say, "Kenny, no!" instead of "[PROTECT ALVIN]" Alvin die!
You can make nick survive
and you can make walter survive by not making kenny shot
Anyway, I managed to save him !
He lived in mine too. I chose "grab the gun", because I thought it would let Clem shoot Carver. Instead, she just grabbed it so Kenny couldn't shoot. Ironically, if she had done what I wanted her to Alvin would be dead. So, I'm glad I misunderstood the dialogue.
Walter always dies though, Kenny will shoot him regardless of what you say to him.
No he doesnt, I said 'Kenny no' and Alvin lived
Carver "Hi Alvin" (aggressively grabs him)
Haha that part had me howling for all the wrong reasons. The way Carver/Michael Madsen said it was great!
As for the choices, any character who is determinant on whether they live or die will be killed eventually. Nick and Alvin will die in episode 3, almost certain. In fact i can see it being a slaughter in ep3, more killings than in ep2. Really looking forward to the next release
Why is Alvin dying absurd? Carver says "surrender or I'll kill him", you don't surrender, so Carver kills him. Sounds like a logical outcome to me...
I really don't understand this...
What do you mean?
:?
Quite the contrary. Dialogue choices are important: After surrendering to Carver, if you pick "Protect Alvin" or "Kenny, Luke, don't shoot", Alvin will live. However, if you pick Silence or "Carver, don't do this!", Alvin will die.
Fair enough, but I never said dialogue choices aren't important at all. I also found out that if you pick "Carver, don't do this!" he will shoot Alvin, something which at the time I wrote my previous comment thought wasn't going to happen(I'm not including silence since very few people play the game that way in their main save).
