Can Clem's hat be copywrited?(NEED HELP)

I have a local hat store called Lids and you can make a custom hat.I would be capable of putting a simple D on it and BOOM Clem's hat,but...Would that be copywright? If yes,i can't make one,i need to know soon enough! ;)

  • I don't have the site, I'm sure somebody will post it, but I saw a place that sold replicas of her hat. It was only $20, which is pricy for a hat but I don't think it'd be that much than a custom one.

I looked it up on google, the only ones I saw were mesh back... I know I some somebody posted a legit baseball cap though.

I am not sure about the full legal stuff but i think it would be ok to make it for personal use, if you started selling them to make a profit then it could start breaking some copyright laws if Telltale and/or Skybound own the copyright for Clementine's character design.

  • You should probably contact Telltale themselves via E-Mail about that.

In the United States, logos consisting of just letters in a simple typeface are below "the threshold of originality" and are not eligible for copyright protection in the United States. So, if you live in the United States, it should be perfectly OK for you to make a hat like Clem's.

  • ok,thanks for the help :D
