People Over-Criticize Episode 2.

I was watching a Let's play recently (Not gonna get into details) and I noticed the guy did nothing but criticize the Episode's plot throughout his playthrough. According to him the Episode "made no sense" for example the part when the Transformer turns off or whatever he found it childish because That wouldn't happen in real life just because a Storm was here, He also found it annoying that Clementine had to do everything for the group and some of the choices weren't as clear as they seemed when they poped up on screen. Then you come to the forum and all you see is people saying the episodes are " getting worse" . Do you agree with any of these critics ? I don't. People are focusing more on realism and gameplay more than the Story itself and character development that's not how it worked for Season 1.
Comments
They complain way too much the episode was great
Oh shit let me guess , was that god awful youtube channel "farfromsubtle"?
In my opinion the episode was great. No fiction is realistic, and if the writers focused mainly on realisme, then it would most likely be a very boring story
You fucking genius, Take my like.
I think they lost their shit when episode 1 was released and carry this rage until today. Admit it, it wasn't how we expected.
Thanks
I knew it was them, i only watched their season 1 episode 1 part and oh my god it was unbearable
I find it ironic that they want so much realism in Zombies game.
I mean they're okay when they don't try to be a bunch of smartasses that know everything. Their playthrough of Season 2 has been terrible so far.
I don't watch you tube videos with idiots talking. When I watch a gameplay video, I want to see the game. Not hear stupid comments.
Exactly
So instead of having moments where Clem figures shit out for the group, they would rather just sit back and have the NPC's do all the work? Some smart people out there
I don't agree that Clementine had to do "everything" or that she was doing something beyond her capabilities throughout the episode... except maybe the scene with the wind thingie (what's it called again?).
Realism, or suspension of disbelief is important for many people. TWD is trying to present to us what real people would do in situations like this. When you sacrifice that for the sake of your plot, it is bound to have eyebrows raised. Then again, zombies!
If it was up to some people Clementine would be worthless
People are always unhappy. I mean now they are complaning about how all adults gives all dangerous work to the small girl. Let's look in another side what if everything were like in real life, I mean adults protect children, not allow them to do anything dangerous, not asking advice from 11 years-old girl. Again we would find out than people are dissatisfied, because they cannot do a lot in the game ( remember we're playing for a kid). It is impossible to make it fine for everyone
There's always going to be people like this, especially when it's a sequel. People will complain for the storyline not going the way they want to and be overly-critical over the smallest things or not go the way the envisioned it to, unfortunately that Let's Player seems to only think that. He'd have probably complained about everything in the first Season also though. I hate people like that, they bash it for no good reason just because it's newer. Nostalgia can be your enemy at times. And that Let's Player sounds like one of the prime examples.
It's like thinking Super Mario Galaxy is terrible in comparison to Super Mario 64.
Its funny how the episode overall is great yet people find a way to criticize little mistakes just because the story didn't go the path they wanted it to.
Everyone criticizes when a work of art isn't completed the way they wanted to visualize it. People often demand, beg and urge the creators to make more stories and continue a series or trilogy because the original was just so good that they want to re-experience those same moments of blissful entertainment and happiness that they enjoyed out of the original. This is why most say sequels are often bad or worse than the original installment. But sequels are not always worse with each successor. Just a lot of times the genre and story gets dry and stale. The might and magic of season one was just unmatchable. I sensed that the second season would not top the first as soon as they mentioned we would be playing as a child and that child is Clementine, I love Clem but the genius of the original was her interactions with Lee and Lee being a bit forced to become a foster guardian for her and over time their relationship strengthening and bonding so much that they form essentially a father/daughter type relationship from the the two of them basically just being nothing more than complete strangers in the beginning. Now "All That Remains" is really just "The adventures of Clemmy and friends" so to speak.LOL But it was something new they wanted to experiment with so I applaud Tell-Tale nonetheless if anyone can do it these guys can.
Those people should make their own games then or just stop playing and bother the others
I'll never undertand the guy on that channels obsession with Molly.... he cant remember most of the guys names but he remembers that one appearance ninja
I got kinda curios , do you know where can i watch their episode 2 playthrough ?
Hey, nothing wrong with expecting higher quality and more gameplay like we've seen in season 1. Doesn't mean they hate the series now, just that they want it to be the best it can be, and like I said, we've seen better.
Also its sad but their playthroughs depend so much on the main guys mood. If he's in a good one he'll think carefully and choose what he thinks he would do, if he's cranky for whatever reason he just makes stupid choices. and over analyses everything
Well they recorded it on twitch but I don't really know how that works can you just go their profile there and watch it ? If not they should upload it today people want to see that playthrough way too much !
Or just chooses silence for no reason.
Found it

Im all in for lettingg Telltale know where they can improve, But to bash an Episode that they put all their hard work into and was in fact a good one is completely different gotta give credit when its due.
Man you're Awesome ! But I don't wanna go through this again lol
Exactly. If they want realism A Sports game would be a better fit for them.
They need to get over it
They can be good let's players sometimes
Depends on how fraser is feeling
In the last couple of years, over-critcizing became a somewhat "cult" thing to do.
Unfortunately, Yes you're right. Now a days Things get over criticized even when they don't deserve to be criticized in the first place.
Oh, come on! Season Two isn't so cool so far, but I could say it isn't bad either. I think it's 8.5/10. Could be better, but it surely not crap or something as some people say. By the way we've got 3 episodes on the way, let's talk about it later, when we'll get the whole picture.
Episode 2 was good, It wasn't the best thing ever made but It lived up to the expectations and had a mix of everything you could want in a game. For people to shit on it just because it wasn't what they expected is just terrible.
I think this is the best episode so far.
Its right behind Starved for Help for me.
I really enjoyed episode 2. I admit that i felt let down by ep1 for reasons such as episode length, lack of dialogue/or backgrounds of the new characters etc, but ep2 made up for it. Decent length, intense moments like on the bridge and the invading walkers near the end and i really loved the Carver/hostage scene at the end. People who moan about not liking the eps just aren't worth peoples time. If they dont like it, they shouldnt play it. Just my opinion
I agree, Episode 1 was "meh" you know it was alright but nothing special so I couldn't do anything against people's critics. But this Episode was great I don't know what's the deal.
Just give me a good story with interesting and memorable characters and I'll do the rest. Take that how you will.
" The episode made no sense! "
Makes perfect sense to me!
