Honestly, all I've seen are a few criticisms thrown around here and there with an overwhelming flooding of downvotes. Saying the game is over criticized is being a tad overly sensitive. I love the game too, but being here has just given me the impression that the fanbase simply does not allow criticism of any kind, and they explain away some really valid points with questionable logic. It's not healthy for people who want the series to get better, imo.
I've been over this many times these last few days but Im gonna try to explain it one last time. There is a difference between letting Telltale know where they can improve, And together have healthy discussions about the quality of the game and Completely bashingg an episode stating it makes no sense and that each episode gets worst.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I think I'd rather watch pewdiepie's videos than watch videos of those motherfuckers bashing a game for not being "realistic" enough.
I've been over this many times these last few days but Im gonna try to explain it one last time.
It's attitudes like that which can prevent reasonable discussion in the first place. I've seen plenty of people post here about awkward situations in the plot that make little sense, or character and story inconsistencies, only to be responded with, as I said before, questionable logic. The problem is, anything in the series can be rationalized away fairly easily. That doesn't make it a right, nor is it the best solution to the problem.
Some people over-react, sure. Some people are unfairly harsh, no argument there, but that still doesn't change the fact that the response has been generally the same to those who would even dare question any elements of the game. Your reply to my pretty benign comment is an example of that. Instead of listening to what I had to say, you dismissed it as if I 'just didn't know what I was talking about'. Like you're stuck with this thankless job of 'correcting' all these people who 'just don't get it'. Which is strange, because I didn't even say much. But, look, I'm not stupid and neither are many of the critics.
There are problems with the game. It's a great game, but it still has issues. Most of which have already been brought up by others and fallen on deaf ears. My point is that if everyone treats criticism this way, then they'll never actually see the validity in the points raised unless it already "jives" with their pre-existing opinions. In that case, nobody actually learns anything.
Just saying, "But x happened because y" may not be a realistic enough answer. And if people write that off with, "realism never matters. it's just a game, stupid. it doesn't matter.", then this place is hopeless. And they're really preventing the game and its writers from growing into something even greater.
But in the end, it probably doesn't matter what people here say. What matters is if Telltale pays attention to the criticisms and takes them to heart. I don't come here often for the reasons I already mentioned, but I thought I'd pop in and toss my 2 cents into the mix. Maybe someone will listen.

Oh man, i just got finished watching their playthrough. That was a horrible waste of time, and done nothing but upset me. Their channel works weirdly for me, i enjoy their humor but i hate everything else, especially the things Fraser (The player in farfromsubtle) does and decides. That was the last straw for me though, so i decided to unsubscribe. -_-
I thought this episode was amazing, one of the best ones imo. There are some points I agree with like the turbine scene there should of been instructions or something. But seriously I rather do stuff as Clem then just stand there doing nothing and waiting for something to happen. Like if Luke brought someone else to the bridge, sure it will be good character development between to group and Clem. But I prefer killing zombies.
Listen, Are you okay with people shitting on the game because it didn't go the way they wanted it to or because its not " realistic enough" That's great. If you haven't noticed this thread has almost 350 comments in which I found myself discussing this problem over and over again and Im not gonna keep repeating myself . I don't approve a youtuber acting like the game is the biggest piece of shit ever because in his world it didn't make sense or Because he wants Clementine to be sitting around doin' nothing. "Attitudes like mine ?" Attitudes like yours makes it seem okay to harshly criticize a Game Telltale put so much effort into and they delivered with great content. P.S : This isn't anything against you or anything, Im just sayin' I've been discussing this for three days now with many people and I just ran out of ways to explain how I feel. I don't agree with you but still thanks for the comment.

it does get a little annoying when you write a piece expressing your thoughts as well as you can only to be met with "ya well, they didn't. get over it, and enjoy the game." there are many points and plot holes within the game that make for great questions, but these are either outshined by people that think "oooo, he said something bad about the game/TTG, let's downvote and move on", or posts/topics that could have had a decent premise only to be summed up as "they can or can't/should or shouldn't do ________ because that's not what i'd do." alot of the people that bash the game like a troll get more banter than a post that clearly explains what points a person takes issue on and how it could have been better handled or solved, and even if such posts get a comment, it's rarely something constructive. saying that something "wasn't as fleshed out as it should have been because..." and getting met with "shut up, it would have taken them even longer to release the episode." doesn't really make a valid point, but that seems the biggest reason people give for why things weren't done. that or "ya, you make a great point, and ima let you finish, but TWD S2E# was the greatest episode ever made!"

who is to say there couldn't have still been kiling if you stayed behind? the group decided to move up without waiting for an all clear from clem and luke, why couldn't it have been because walkers showed up? it's questions and points like this that could have been fleshed out to make your choices feel like you're doing more than being led around by the story. some of what people are calling "bashing" or "criticizing" is simply a person asking "why not?" having the main character doing stuff rather than sitting around is fine, but if its done at the expense of making everybody else look useless or stupid, then there's probably room to improve, and making such suggestions is usually met by people that just say "they (TTG) didn't feel like it" or "it would have taken too much time/money to add any more" or my favorite "you should be happy you even have a game to play, now shut up and play or go away." rather than giving a reason explaining why clem would have utterly rejected the idea to stay with the rest of the group while luke went to check out the bridge.

I want to ask those of you who think there's nothing wrong with it to click on the video, Watch the whole thing, And later tell me how in the world that would be called "Constructive criticism" or "Healthy criticism". wow. i actually had almost no problems with the vid, and agreed with their points. he did get a bit... excitable when telling walter about matthew, but aside from that, i think alot of the complaints they all had and joked about were valid points. and they even say that they like the game and series, but wished TTG'd fix some of these things.
my only problem is that i ran out of cheetos during the titanfall thing before the walking dead stuff even started. dunno why people got all bent out of shape over this. he may not have made choices i did, but, really, who cares about that?
they're discussing their thoughts on the game while playing the game. ofcourse they're gonna be mentioning when stuff comes up, and it comes up constantly, hell, they made it a drinking game.
Everyone's going to have an opinion but the problem is that there's no way we'll have 100% agreement on anything (unless you're voting in North Korea aka forced to vote one way). I just watched the YouTube video for the first time and couldn't even make it through the first few minutes. I kept saying to myself "Do you guys have anything positive to say?". I think much of it was staged drama to milk views and interest but not true interest. More so like the voyeur type like watching reality tv. Then again, Some people love to criticize and nit pick over the smallest details which is fine but would I want to hang out and chit chat with them....uh no thanks! My point is that you can't make everyone happy and those who are not happy and are looking for someone to argue with are already in a no win situation.
I gotta say you are the first one to say that, Don't know how you managed to find it all good ( Take a look at the last comment from @Clementine09 ) , But if you have no problem with it I respect your opinion, People can't agree on everything.

I couldn't make it through the video but what I saw showed nothing but snide remarks and non constructive criticism. Again, it's probably staged to whet the appetite of their viewers. Done for the sake of doing it. Like a drama queen looking for attention. Just look at the way they make their choices and how quickly they press those buttons. They know exactly what they're doing. It's so obvious but their viewers love it so what do they care.
For me it got to a point where I couldn't watch it either, The way he was nitpicking everything got annoying but I guess there's no way to make everyone happy even when you make great games.

Well drama sells and this was a professional staged production where they knew way beforehand what they were looking to do and how they wanted to present it. Their videos only average a few thousand views so this tells me that they are trying to establish a niche and build an audience (sort of like what Mystery Science Theater 3000 did back in the day) where viewers would be interested in hearing their witty discussion almost as much as the bad movie they were watching. Problem is that their dialog is not funny and is downright annoying which can also attract viewers but in this case it hasn't (so far). I don't see them reaching a PewDiePie level of popularity anytime soon.

tbh, if i hadn't said earlier i was gonna watch it, i probably would have stopped during the whole log-in BS for titanfall. i still feel like i wasted 3 hours, but i wouldn't say this was near as bad as people made it sound from all the complaining and convenient quoting i've seen. these people play the game, comment on it, and other people watch them. if i find something funny that keeps popping up in a game, it stays with me. they made a drinking game out of it. they did constantly keep on making fun of some things, but i never felt they were out of line or being completely unreasonable, save for the outburst while telling walter the truth about who killed matthew. they have opinions, people watch them for their opinions. just think about what this game has that breaks the monotony of the story for more than a few minutes. there is no 20 minute battle of clem trying to fight her way through an army of walkers armed with nothing but her wits and a hammer while crossing the bridge. you have a QTE and 2 and a half walkers. that's it. that doesn't really break the flow of play and give them some new aspect of the game to talk about. no change up means the same stuff is gonna keep appearing, and that means they'll keep talking about it. if a giant orc smashed through the wall and clem had to beat it off with the duck decoration, they'd sure as hell talk about that, but it didn't happen. what did happen is the cabin people kept expecting clem to do all these things, which as a main character, you expect, but as a little girl? if sarah just showed up alone to the season 1 group, do you think they'd have expected her to actually do anywhere near the kind of stuff these people are putting on clem as though it's nothing? that's a pretty big flaw, and that's why it kept getting talked about.
if the guy played by himself, i could see this being excessive, but there are 4 of them, and they're all getting in on poking at the stuff the game has you do. this didn't feel anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be.

when they start to recap the episode and discuss the points, starting at 2:51:15, they don't sound like they disliked the game, and around 3:00:30 he actually addresses the people complaining about him, and 3:04:30 talks about bein hard on TTG and why. this might be after they've beaten the game, but they're still discussing it up until 3:07:15. try watching from the first listed time here to the last time, and see if you still feel like he was being unreasonable and purely negative.
that said, that's now more than 3 hours i will never get back.
I see where you're coming from bro. Their target audience is the "drinking game" type who enjoys their sense of humor and non stop criticism. Their over critical style overshadows anything meaningful they say because although their flaw recognition might be accurate the things people remember will be all the other excessive negativity coming out of their mouths.
You're also right. They are not as bad as they seem to be but they could work on their credibility with better organized criticism.

If clem wasnt so consistantly thrown into these situations you just wouldnt expect a kid to just do, they probably wouldn't have gone on as they did. When kenny asks her to help walt with dinner, they're like "finally! A reasonable thing to ask a little girl." Then go on to joking about having her fortify the windows or dig a trench. And then when sarita asks her to help with the tree, that seems reasonable. Leaving clem to hold a door shut while nick finds something? Or when alvin says he cant go check for food cause he has to sit next to rebecca? Theyre pushing everything on clem. As a main char, its ok, but we are also playing as a child. Too many situations are thrust onto us as just something the main character should do, not the way things would actually happen.
Like, for the food thing, if alvin had mentioned rebecca being hungry as more of an "in passing" statement, and going into the building felt like clem was just trying to be proactive and helpful, to look for the food matthew mentioned, rather than being told, it wouldnt have felt as strange. Clem did things like that all the time in season 1. Have alvin rush in after she opens the trunk, worried about her, and go from there. Ta-da, clem now feels independent without feeling like she is being used.

Bandwagon post, or was there more to it than calling a person that agreed with the guy's opinion a dumbshit? Aside from the fanboy remark, the language, and coming on too strong, theres nothing i find wrong with that post.

If you know Fraser he LOVES to nitpick. He's the totalbiscuit of canadians only he never really gives valid reasons.
Yeah I know he does. He is NEVER happy and always finds a reason to complain and the rest of the guys just follow his game.

they're discussing their thoughts on the game while playing the game. ofcourse they're gonna be mentioning when stuff comes up, and it comes up constantly, hell, they made it a drinking game.
You're right, I don't think they said anything positive in that playthrough.
Well, I don't think anyone will reach his level if popularity for now specially not FFS of course.
tbh, if i hadn't said earlier i was gonna watch it, i probably would have stopped during the whole log-in BS for titanfall. i still feel like i wasted 3 hours, but i wouldn't say this was near as bad as people made it sound from all the complaining and convenient quoting i've seen. these people play the game, comment on it, and other people watch them. if i find something funny that keeps popping up in a game, it stays with me. they made a drinking game out of it. they did constantly keep on making fun of some things, but i never felt they were out of line or being completely unreasonable, save for the outburst while telling walter the truth about who killed matthew. they have opinions, people watch them for their opinions. just think about what this game has that breaks the monotony of the story for more than a few minutes. there is no 20 minute battle of clem trying to fight her way through an army of walkers armed with nothing but her wits and a hammer while crossing the bridge. you have a QTE and 2 and a half walkers. that's it. that doesn't really break the flow of play and give them some new aspect of the game to talk about. no change up means the same stuff is gonna keep appearing, and that means they'll keep talking about it. if a giant orc smashed through the wall and clem had to beat it off with the duck decoration, they'd sure as hell talk about that, but it didn't happen. what did happen is the cabin people kept expecting clem to do all these things, which as a main character, you expect, but as a little girl? if sarah just showed up alone to the season 1 group, do you think they'd have expected her to actually do anywhere near the kind of stuff these people are putting on clem as though it's nothing? that's a pretty big flaw, and that's why it kept getting talked about.
if the guy played by himself, i could see this being excessive, but there are 4 of them, and they're all getting in on poking at the stuff the game has you do. this didn't feel anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be.
when they start to recap the episode and discuss the points, starting at 2:51:15, they don't sound like they disliked the game, and around 3:00:30 he actually addresses the people complaining about him, and 3:04:30 talks about bein hard on TTG and why. this might be after they've beaten the game, but they're still discussing it up until 3:07:15. try watching from the first listed time here to the last time, and see if you still feel like he was being unreasonable and purely negative.
that said, that's now more than 3 hours i will never get back.
Look at this dumbshit
Bandwagon post, or was there more to it than calling a person that agreed with the guy's opinion a dumbshit? Aside from the fanboy remark, the language, and coming on too strong, theres nothing i find wrong with that post.
