  • 1.Well Steam is international so Australia cant really ban it on steam 2. If am wrong about number 1 The Walking dead was not released on disc until the R rating was released in Australia which was February last year. P.S I also got the walking dead on steam when episodes cam out as well.

things can be banned on steam us aussies can't buy manhunt on steam cause it is still banned here and games are being censored on steam (like saints row iv and south park the stick of truth) so far twd is the only game on steam unaffected by it not being released here

He's talking about the AO rating. The Walking Dead uses the "M" rating, which basically allows for anything other than graphic nudity and s

That's because the R18 rating for video games in Australia didn't go into effect until 2013 (the date it went into effect was postponed from its original 2011 date). Every game that was approved in Australia until the R18 rating went into effect could only be rated as high as R15.

I'd say that for any rape to be honest. Honestly that crosses a threshold that would alienate too many players. As a victim of child sexual abuse I would NEVER want this to be a thing in the series.

  • I thought it was TLaTD that had nudity (GTA 5 does as well, I think). Anyways, full frontal nudity is allowed if it isn't used in an explicit sexual context. By "sex scene", I mean something you might see in a porno. Basically, unless a game displays graphic penetration, it isn't going to get an AO rating. A game like The Witcher 2 is one of the more AO eligible M rated games I have seen, but even with all of the sex scenes and the overall theme of brutality, it doesn't justify the rating.

  • I think that scene has less to do with the adult rating and more to do with time and resources. I notice there aren't a lot of "flashbacks" you play through which I didn't mind since I know some games and movies get pretty heavy handed with telling us everything about the character.

Would make it better in SOME scenarios, but not all. Like Lee catching his wife and the senator sleeping together and then killing him, that would be pretty interesting.

  • Conker's Bad Fur Day didn't even get an AO rating. I figured AO games were more often than not hentai games or something.

True, but I've never seen an AO game (then again, most stores refuse to cary them). I've also never seen an eC game...

  • Another rape thread? Back to the fuckin' river it is.

  • Sorry to keep this rather unfortunate thread going, but now that I think about it, would Clementine even know what rape is?

She was only 8 when this whole thing started. And she went to school in the south. Sex-ed doesn't really get much support there. I mean I assume they probably taught her "bad touch" and stuff like that and her parents seem pretty on the ball so they probably filled her in on some stuff, but still. She was 8. I had no fucking idea what the hell sex was when I was 8.

Christa taught Clem how to sew up wounds so she might also have told her about bad people and the dangers of what they could do.

I really don't see the need to have any scenarios involving those types of bad things in the game and i really doubt Telltale will to there with Clem.
