Campsite Family Dead

In Episode 1, there is this picture on the campsite, in a box in the RV.

It shows three people:

A Man, a woman and a kid, probably the family which owned Sam.

Now, I´m not sure about one thing (could be that I missed the obvious ;3):

Are the dead walker and the small grave what´s left of the family of the tree walker?

Maybe their son (or daughter, not sure) turned and bit his mom, killing her.

When her husband killed his wife with the sign through the head, he still got bit.

With his wife and son dead, he tied himself to the tree as good as he could so he would at least not kill his dog, Sam.

Of course this is pure speculation, but it could be :P

  • I think the man wasn't the last one to die, why would he tie himself on a tree just so his dog could survive? I mean dogs, they're way faster then walkers.

  • Yeah, probably you´re right

But maybe he was. It looks like he tried to cut it out himself, why wouldn´t he let it do someone else?

And why did he not pull the knife out?

Interesting. Except the small detail of HOW THE FUCK DO YOU TIE YOURSELF TO A TREE?

  • Makes sense. But seriously how did he tie himself up to that big tree ? Lol other than this sounds reasonable.

  • It was a daughter.

I don't think the rope was tight at all.

It was tight enough to keep a walker from wandering of, but otherwise pretty loose.

He could have just slipped under the rope, also remember that his arms weren't tied down, but above the rope.

  • With Nick Breckon as the writer I wouldn't really look too deep into these things trying to find any meaning.

  • Ok, good point :D

That's what I would have done if I was a writer, anyway...

  • Regarding the knife; he may well have blacked out. There'd have been bloodloss from both the bite and his botched surgery, plus the infection is supposed to lead to the rapid onset of a fever. Consider Lee in the last few episodes of Season 1.

  • Why does everyone here hate Nick Breckon?

  • Plot holes and lack of depth in the writing.

    Ahh, fair enough.

Can you give me some examples? Not saying you're wrong, just curious.

Did he write anything before season 2?

  • Well I liked parts of 400 days, particularly Shel's story.
