  • I don't mind at all, though if I had to choose one Luke as an avatar it would be this one.

I hope you don't mind me using this as my avatar! My screenshot skills are crap at the moment.

Yep, he is his father. Have that feeling as well. Another point: in the trailer for episode 2 we first see one of Carver's group come to the cabin instead of Carver himself, so this clue was put there purposely. There are no coincidences in these small details. Remember when we saw a glimpse of Kenny running from the alley, where he shot shitbird Ben?

  • Dear god, that scene had some weird facial expressions, haha. I just burst out laughing at two thirty in the morning.

    Tell me about it.

  • While I'm not quite sold on the idea, I do think there's the possibility of them being blood related somehow. And the point about similar character models kind of feeds into that. Why use similar character models for two of the most significant characters to the plot? At least the other examples involved characters in completely different installments (to say nothing of established canon). And the differences between Carver and Luke could come down to age differences (or inheritance from other parts of the family tree) like Carver's gauntness. I'm not hellbent on it being true but there's some extra story potential in it, IMO.

  • It could be that he lied, or withheld the truth at least.

Luke said his parents died if I recall correctly.

Some people do believe that Glenn and Vince are brothers because Vince mentions that he had a brother, they both lived in Macon, and in the comics Glenn tells Rick that he knows how to hotwire a car because he used to do some illegal stuff on top of being a pizza delivery boy, which means he could be linked to whatever guy Vince killed in the beginning of his story.

So... It's actually at least somewhat likely that Vince and Glenn could be brothers beyond them both looking similar.

Luke looks to be in his late 20s, while Carver looks 40 at most. They've also given no inclination of having that personal a relationship. I

  • It's possible, I'm not exactly certain how plausible it is, but it's actually possible. I'll keep that theory in mind.

  • But does Glenn ever mention any siblings? I feel that's more important than both characters being involved with crime in some way.

  • Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. But I'm thinking Carver's actually Luke's uncle.

  • That's a really fair point. Telltale is good at the little details.

  • I disagree that Luke is in his late twenties. I think he is 25 at the oldest.

  • I really hope not, it seems a bit TV cliche.

Last I checked, this sort of twist was not exclusive to television shows. If you're complaining about cliches in general, you might as well stay away from fiction.

I believe that he does. He doesn't specifically mentions having a brother, but I believe that in the first book he said something about having siblings and that he was worried about them.

So... There's a fairly good chance that Vince and Glenn might be brothers. Both mention having siblings, both lived in Macon, both in some way involved in Crime(meaning that what Glenn was telling Rick about could have been why Vince killed that guy).

  • Carver refers to the whole group as family at the end of episode 2. I think Luke was referring to his mentality; on top of his Rebecca/baby fixation. He probably considers himself some kind of ultimate patriarch.

  • I see a great cliff hanger for episode 3 coming. Carver is holding Rebecca's baby and says " we will name him Luke" and screen cuts to black.

  • Lol that'd be crazy if it happened.

  • I believe he says it when you choose the option "They died." when he askes about what happened to her parents, instead of choosing another like "Other people took care of me."

  • Yeah that kind of gave it away for me that they are related

  • Well Luke doesn't like him very much if it is his father!

  • I agree with what others have mentioned that if Luke was indeed Carver's son, there would have been some subtle hints towards this in the dialogue and game interactions. Even something simple like somebody mentioning Carver and Luke looking away angrily. Or somebody asking him if he's okay and he just kind of brushes them off. When I did my second playthrough, this theory was crossing my mind, and I was looking for little hints like this, but didn't really see anything that could support this. If Telltale reveals that Luke's is Carver's son, I feel like this would be more out-of-the-blue random than a legitimate twist.

I feel like Carver's issues are mainly with Rebecca/baby and Carlos. His quip with Luke seems to the fact that Luke is supposedly the one who rallied the group to leave his camp, even though Carver sees him as the "cut-and-run" unreliable type.

I will admit, their character models could definitely pass for father and son. I just showed the picture you posted to my non-TWDG friend and ask what she thought their relationship was, and her first response was father/son.

  • Thanks)) I'll try)

  • I can see this being true. They really do look alike, but I do remember Luke said he lost his "folks." The word "folks" could mean anything though. They can be his friends, people he worked with, who knows? But in all I wouldn't be surprised if this winds up being true.

  • Well, Sarah did say "Lukes back" when it was actually Carver which means that she confused Carver for Luke. I think that's a subtle hint. It would be a cool effect too. Carver being the leader of his little "regime" while Luke is the leader of the resistance. Maybe Carver saying that Luke is the "cut-and-run" unreliable type because he wanted to take Luke (his son) under his wing, but Luke saw what his father had become and fled. Carver could have changed when his real family died like his wife and daughter (Luke's sister which could explain why Luke treats Clem like his little sister) which as I stated before was the reason Luke left in the first place. Taking Carlos, Rebecca, and the others was just to spite his father.

  • @quinnics WHAT DID I TELL YOU?!

  • BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. WHY WOULD NICK NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT IT IF HE'S KNOWN HIM FOR TWENTY YEARS? WOULDN'T HE BE MORE FOCUSED ON HUNTING DOWN LUKE AND NOT JUST THE BABY?

@quinnics WHAT DID I TELL YOU?!

  • MAYBE LUKE TOLD NICK NOT TO SAY ANYTHING, AND MAYBE LUKE AND CARVER HATE EACH OTHER AND DON'T WANT TO ASSOCIATE WITH EACH OTHER AND THAT'S WHY THEY DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING. AND CARVER WANTED THE BABY BECAUSE HE WANTED A BETTER SON :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
