I actually like that theory more. It's still plausible but less harsh and more in line with Kenny's character. I don't think Kenny would murder someone in cold blood but I could see him beating the shit out of Luke for no good reason(he can get into a fight with Lee in season 1, but he's pretty depressed and in denial when that happens).

Perhaps it's just a non-canon death? Lee had "Dead Lee" models in the first Season and they were just game over screens. Kenny and Clementine could die in the first Season too resulting in a game over (though Clementine's, were obscured. You never actually saw her die. Unlike this Season though).
Or maybe the person just edited the file? :P they wouldn't kill a character who's been relatively important so far off screen, especially with his VA being one of the better known ones in the game.
