Hershel's Advice to Lee
So I just noticed that what luke told clementine about family is nearly identical to when Hershel told lee about families are important and all that matters do you think that Hershel's advice is starting to come to fruition I mean he said you're gonna have to depend on the honesty of strangers (lees group and the cabin group) do you think there's anything else Hershel said that seem to be true and actually starting to come into place

in my opinion it was just coincidence
In my vision, Season 1 episode 1 worked kind of as a tutorial. All the walker kills are slow so it can prepare you for future events (Episode 5 Lee's killing spree is one of them) and Save Duck or Shawn choice is irrelevant (Shawn always dies) so it can prepare you for future events (Doug and Carley).
In Hershel's sequence he basically tells you to watch you're mouth because sometimes it bites you in the ass. (''You're just an old racist asshole'' is a good example.)
