A New Group (Collaboration Fan-fic)

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

Oh yeah, please come up with a better title, I suck. This is kind of a continuation on my last fan-fic, which was a continuation on 400 days. Continuationception? Ok, basically, what I mean is, we're going to be following brand new characters. Basically, not characters from the game, or any walking dead media. All new, us-invented characters. Why is it a continuation on my last fan-fic? Because we're in the same continuity. So all the characters from the first game that died, are dead. All that lived, are still alive, and can make an appearance. The link is right here: http://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/59241/400-days-lets-keep-going-fan-fic/p1

16 pages. Barely. It's pretty short, but a good read. But if You don't want to read it, here are the living characters (spoilers for the fan-fic):

Wyatt (from the video game): Same character from 400 days, currently driving to no specific destination with a large group. Kenny (from the video game): Same character from the regular game, currently driving to no specific destination with a large group. Russel (from the video game): Same character from 400 days, currently driving to no specific destination with a large group. Johnny (original character): A handsome, 19 year old, who was originally part of a large group of murderous bandits. He is very likable, and funny, currently in a gun store, with a small group, grieving the loss of his closest friend. Dawn (original character): A little girl, who was paralyzed from the waist down from falling off a cliff, is in a wheelchair, and is like a daughter to another character, Laz, and is currently driving to no specific destination with a large group. Laz (original character): a trained fighter, who knows many martial arts, and is proficient with weapons, and is currently carrying duffle bag full of food, water, and lots of weapons. Is currently in a gun store, with a small group, grieving the loss of one of his closest friends. Jane (original character): Jane is Wyatt's girlfriend, and has a good sense of humor, as well as being smart, and fit. Is currently driving to no specific destination with a large group. Lola (original character): a tough, smart, and independent woman, who survived on her own for a long time. Is currently with a small group, in a gun store, grieving the loss of her romantic interest.

sigh that was long......and none of them are even in the story yet, and may not even appear! Yay! Anyway, here are some ground rules: Leave your posts open ended! Don't kill everyone, or say the end, or just generally end the story!---Stick with the current story. Subplots are fine, just stick with what the last person just did. Having someone undo all of your work is beyond frustrating---Don't bring back dead characters for no reason. They're dead.---This is a mature story. No rule 34, or random things that are stupid intentionally.---Don't post your part as a reply, Replies are strictly for responses or criticisms or reactions to whatever you're replying to.---When you're posting, say your posting, refresh, see if anybody else is posting, and either hit edit post, delete the text, and writ your post there, or post our post as a reply to the "I'm posting" post. Sounds confusing, but it isn't.---GET CREATIVE. Also, feel free to jump in and add to the plot at anytime, participation is what makes this so fun, and everyone is encouraged to add!

Ok, copy and paste finished, I'll commence part 1 soon, introduce all the characters. This should be fun, I hope you join, as my last fan-fic was the most fun I've had in a while!

  • Jeremy awoke in his cot, in the hotel his group is staying at. He looked in the mirror that he kept under his bed, and smiled at his own reflection. Jeremy was a bit self-centered, and mean, but when it came down to it, he was very athletic, and a help to the group. He slammed on the wall next to his bed. "Al, get up! We're going hunting!" He yelled, as his friend Al got out of bed, and got dressed. While Jeremy was tall, and muscular, with short black hair, clean-shaven, and was very Tan, Al was about the exact opposite. Scrawny, and short, with long, flowing red hair, and a goatee, as well as being very pale. Al was a calm, and quiet person, so he got out of bed, and walked with Jeremy towards the woods. They hunted for about 4 hours, before arriving back at the hotel at almost noon. "What did ya get?" The leader of the group, Ryan asked. Ryan was leader of the group, because of the fact he and his family were there before anyone else arrived. Ryan was rather tall, and averagely fit, with a chestnut-colored mullet, and a 5 o'clock shadow. He and his family, his wife Kara, who had long black hair, and was very beautiful, and his 2 sons, twins, both 17, Rodrick, and Paul. They looked similar, except Rodrick was goth, and had spiked hair, and ear piercings, and Paul was a bit of a nerd, and was more shy, with a bowl haircut. That was the whole group. Ryan, and his family, Al, and Jeremy. And at the time, they had a good group, and everyone agreed, they were doing very well, despite the circumstances.

  • As Jeremy and Al were getting ready to go hunting, Anya was sitting in her hotel room getting dressed. She looked in the mirror and began brushing her rainbow colored hair. She loved the look of it as it brought color and smiles to a seemingly gray, lifeless world. Her best friend had nicknamed her Skittles in high school. That seem so long ago. She couldn't believe she was 18 and living in apocalyptic times. With zombies even! She put a hat on to match her black jeans and her pink shirt. Deciding that she wasn't going to spend all day inside, she grabbed her Pink Ladies jacket and finally put that on. It was just like the ones they wore in the movie "Grease" Some people thought her to be this dumb valley girl and she let them think that. It was easier to find out what was going on. And people didn't expect much out of her. She grabbed her backpack that had 2 liters of water, a lock pick set, extra ammo for her two guns and a bunch of food rations that they ate in the military. She had a whole bunch of those, as her father was a Drill Sargent before he died. He always use to bring these packets home with him. She had enough to last her months. Besides the obvious hunter's knife, Anya carried a pair of uzi's and an automatic shotgun, all with silencers. They were strapped to her legs and the shotgun on her back. And she also had something her father had given her before he died.....a grappling gun. It could hold up to 450 pounds and had 100 feet of thin steel wire. She liked when she shot it at roofs and than pull the second trigger and as fast as could be she was flying through the air. It had proved a very useful tool. That was attached to her hip. After getting everything ready she left her room and locked the door and headed to stand guard.

  • Some people just hate creativity.

  • Ok, this one will be REALLY SHORT. Super short. I only have, like 5 minutes, so It's gonna be very short.

Jeremy, and Al waved goodbye to everyone, and everyone waved back. They went into the woods, and Jeremy drew his hunting rifle, and Al drew his pistol. The pistol was just for self defense, where as the rifle was for both defense and hunting, obviously. They reached a car, while chasing a rabbit. Al peered inside, and saw a bearded, long haired guy, lying down, so when he tapped on the window, he woke up. The bearded guy got out of the car, and so did an African-American young guy, pushing a little girl in a wheelchair, with a white cat sleeping on her lap, and a redneck with a mullet, and a 'stache. "Woah man, don't shoot!" the bearded guy said, as Al lowered his gun. "Name's Wyatt, this is Kenny, Dawn, Doc, and Russel." Wyatt said, as everyone looked into the woods, to see a woman carrying a dead deer, as Wyatt smiled "and this is Jane." Al explained about the hotel, and how they have enough food to feed a country for a month, and Wyatt explained their story, and how they ended up in the woods, living in a car, and Jeremy invited the 5 of them to come stay in the hotel, as they happily agreed, and followed them back to the hotel.

  • Anya was standing guard duty when she saw Jeremy and Al return with another car behind them full of people. In the second car she saw a female child holding a cat. She hadn't seen a cat nor a dog in forever. She heard snarling coming from up the road. Three walkers were heading this way. Sighing she walked out to the road and took out her knife and quickly stabbed the one closest in the head. That walker fell backwards knocking one of the walkers down. Anya then stabbed the other walker that was standing and as she did felt someone grab her ankle. Turning she saw it was the walker that had been knocked down. She finished off the last one, cleaned her knife and put it away. She would have to tell the clean up crew so they could take these walkers and burn them. Just as she was turning to head back she thought she saw in the woods a quick flash of a purple backpack. She thought about it for a second then just came to the conclusion it must have the sun working with her adrenaline rush making her see things. She headed back to town to the the clean up crew.

Wyatt got Kenny up to a room. They had been parked in the woods for days, and the small amounts of food and water were killing him, especially because he kept insisting he keeps moving, but his injury is still bad. Robert had put a bullet in his stomach, a few weeks ago, and he wasn't fully treated, so he ended up just getting worse. Dawn was on the mend, though. Her walking was NEVER coming back, but she got to decorate her wheelchair with pretty things like jewelry and flowers they find. However, she most liked finding things like a purple backpack, which she ripped the strap off of, and put over her armrests. Plus, the fact that Doc could stay with her all day, as she no longer had to leave him behind when she left, as he could just sit on her lap. She was constantly sitting, so she is making the most of it. Doc stayed fit to protect Dawn by going hunting with the group while Dawn slept. They were happy together, and kept each other company, especially since Dawn found out that Laz may or may not be alive.

  • Since my last part was short, and nothing happened, I'll go twice.

  • Ryan and Kara were talking, lying down. Rodrick and Paul were doing what they usually did, played cards. They had a deck of cards, and often played poker. Al, and Anya would join then sometimes, Anya more often then Al, but they mostly played between the 2 of them. The day was still young, so Jeremy cooked up some deer meat Jane had brought for lunch. Jeremy's role in the group was hunter and chef, so he was done within an hour. A walker was attracted to the smell of meat, so Jeremy pulled out his pistol, and shot it. there is a metal fence barricading off them fro, the walkers, but they were still a threat. the gunshot attracted 2 more walkers, so to save ammo, Jeremy pulled out a fire poker, and stabbed them both through the head. More started to come to the other sides of the fence, and before Jeremy could react, there was almost 40 walkers, all pushing on the fences mercilessly. Jeremy ran up to tell everyone, and by the time he warned Al, Anya, Wyatt, Jane, and Ryan's family, a huge crash was heard, and everyone gathered together in a hallway, looking out the window. They had collapsed the fence, and were eating the deer meat. "NO!" Jeremy yelled, as they began to all enter, and swarm the hotel door, pushing on it, and they could her the thumps. "We need to get out of here!" Ryan yelled. "Pack up as much food as you can! I have a minivan, you guys have a car, everyone needs to pile into one of them, or the other, then we'll just leave!" Everyone agreed, and frantically began to pack up.

  • Anya ran to her room and filled two backpacks. One with water and the other with enough rations to feed 10 people for at least 6 weeks. She picked up the rest of her ammo,a change of clothes and ran out the door. She ran out of the hotel just in time to see both vehicles speeding off and running over walkers as they disappeared down the road. "Assholes!" she thought to herself. It did distract a lot of walkers, enough so that she could sneak around houses without being seen. And she was seen a few times, but only one or two at a time, of which she quickly disposed off. She made it out of the town, across the road and into the woods. She walked through the woods until she came to a clearing. Seeing no walkers she continued on. She walked for a few hours with no problems at all. She came to a railroad track. She looked in amazement at the wreckage in front of her. A train had derailed and there were carts everywhere. It must have been a passenger train. There were some carts that had windows and she looked through one and saw a mini bar with tables and chairs all over the place. There were dead walkers inside. "That's strange." she said softly. The only part still left on the track were the caboose and a large cart. She went over to them and seeing there was not a ladder on the caboose, she jumped up and onto the platform. The door was unlocked so she went in. Nothing special in here but it was a place to rest awhile. She locked the door and was about to lay down when a voice startled her. "It is more comfortable in the next cart." Anya jumped up and looked and saw a woman with a gun. Anya didnt go for her weapons because she did not want to get shot. "Look I am just looking for a place to sleep for a few hours and than I am gone." Anya said. The woman looked at her and then opened the door which led into the next cart. "Follow me." Anya got up and grabbed her backpacks and followed the female into the other cart. The woman shut the door behind her and locked it tightly. There was a lamp in the room so Anya could see everything. There were mattresses on the floor, a table with chairs and a comfy looking couch in here as well as other things to make it look kind of like a home. "I'm Lola." the woman said as she passed Anya and went in and sat on the couch. "The man laying on that mattress sleeping, is Johnny. And the two at the table playing Monopoly are Laz and a little girl we came across." Laz and girl looked at her then went back to their game. Anya, still in awe said "I am Anya but people call me Skittles." The girl looked at her. "Because of your hair, right?" Anya nodded her head yes. The girl smiled and took her turn. As she was shaking the dice she said " I love Skittles, except for the green ones. And your hair is very pretty. But you might want to think about cutting it short. A walker could get ahold of that real easy." "You're very smart." Laz said to the girl with a big grin on his face. Laz took his hat off and showed the girl his bright neon red hair. The girl giggled and went on to buy the property she had landed on. Anya looked the girl, then at Lola. "What is the girl's name" Lola shrugged. "She hasn't told us yet." Laz put his hat back on and the girl picked up a hat and put it on. She turned and looked at Anya. "My name is Clementine, but my friends call me Clem."

  • Laz ditched the cowboy hat on the road, so now he has a different hat? Like a baseball cap? Where did he find a hat? Nevermind, I'm over thinking this, I'll post in a sec.

During their escape, Ryan ordered everyone to leave Anyone who couldn't keep up behind. He ordered Wyatt drive off first, but at the time, Russel was helping Al kill a walker. So Russel ended up in Ryan's car, but he and Al were almost left behind. Ryan was driving angrily, as Kara asked "Honey....... Why did we have to leave Anya behind? Couldn't we have-" "No." Ryan said, directly. It was just now that Russel was noticing Ryan's thick Irish accent. Neither of his kids had it, and Kara didn't, so he assumed he moved to america, then met Kara. "But honey..." "I said no Kara. She was taking too long." "We had time Ryan-" "WELL I HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR MY DAMN FAMILY BEFORE SOME RANDY, AND I SAY WE. HAD. TO. LEAVE. HER!!!" Ryan hollered. Kara spoke sweetly, and quietly, almost nervously, and Ryan seemed to have anger issues, but from hanging out with Kenny before his "epiphany," AKA getting shot, being away from danger, and resting for a few weeks, that he was just over protective and refuses to admit he was incorrect. But Ryan seemed easier to set off, like if Kenny was a bomb, and Ryan was a landmine. Ryan was breathing heavily, as Rodrick spoke "But dad, she could have come with us-" "Be quiet Rod." "No way in hell dad, I'm right this time." "You're never right Rod, why must you argue with-" "DAD! WHY WON'T YOU ACKNOWLEDGE I'M RIGHT THIS 1 F*CKING TIME!" Russel cringed, and Al and Jeremy looked shocked. "Bro, think about this before you say-" Paul started, before Rodrick continued. "Look dad, you're always walking all over me, I do anything, you walk all over it, it's like you want me out of your life, so you and mom and Paul can have a happily ever after, and I'm like the big bad wolf, a blemish on your perfect family. Because I like down beat music, you smash the CD player, trying to encourage me to be normal and happy. I wear black clothing, or clothing with dark images, you burn all of it when I'm attending school. You locked me in my room for 2 days straight because my friends wanted me to get a tattoo! I wasn't going to, but the thought of me doing anything that messed with your perfect family was banned!" Rodrick said, fuming with rage, as an angry Ryan was swearing, as they continued driving, now 20 mph faster.
