Honey doesn't always work as well as vinegar. First or second warning is OK, but there needs to be a punishment if they don't take the warn… moreing seriously. Clem KNOWS its wrong (soap is unrealistic, though) so if she swears, she doesn't need a warning anymore. Doing something a child KNOWS is wrong needs to be addressed with discipline.
I shouldn't have to warn my child of it more than twice.
Anyway, this is getting off topic.
True. I almost feel as if I should go back and hold off on the optional swears in my playthrough of the second episode... if I make Clementine hold in all of her swears they would be even more surprised at her "first swear"
Perhaps after all the shit goes down and whoever's with her starts arguing with each other and she gets fed up with it and just shouts "Shut the fuck up." That'd get them to shut their mouths and look at her I'd bet.
Proven to be healthy?? how does some swearing that could cause some mental breakdown can be healthy?(By mental breakdown I mean the effect we can cause to others by saying bad words to them)
I never said Clem should swear towards anyone. I honestly don't want her to unless it's Carver. Although, swearing in general has been proven to be healthy.

I shot someone in the face for food: Who cares? It's the apocalypse.
The apocalypse shouldn't be an excuse for uncivil behavior. Either way, I thought you were talking about punishment for swearing in general, not just in Clem's case.
Which is a poor excuse.

No, I'm not. I'm using it as an example that simply because it's the apocalypse doesn't mean there should be exceptions to what was once considered right and wrong.
Going to make a separate thread about this; seems like an interesting topic.
I agree. I bet we'll see one good Precision F-Strike come out Clem this season. But it would be weird for her to start blurting out swears like Kenny or Larry used to.
I personally don't want her to swear a lot but a few swears here and there would be cool
Sorry, I just think it's awesome when Clem swears, it just reminds me of when I was her age.

Well like I said, if you'd like to think this way, you can. I just don't agree with it although you have the right to your opinion but just a warning, not a lot of people will be happy with the thread by the looks of things, but that happens everywhere so yeah :P

Thank you so much for showing this juice box.I read it but the tone of article makes it like a theory and I think the experiments can not explain it compeletely.I refuse to believe that because I experienced it that how it can cause bad effects too and it doesn't worth to say it even if it makes you happier or healthier.anyway, thanks for helping me.

I think it would be awesome to see Clementine add a few swears. I don't want her to start swearing like Ellie from the last of us. If she does swear more, i'd prefer it to not be every other sentence.
I can agree with you on that her view on swearing is one of her few traits she kept onto from S1, and I hope it doesn't change in the near future because it still shows she hasn't lost all of her innocence yet.
Well you here talking about slip.
Yes, she heard f-bombs so many times.
Yes, she hold onto not swearing like that for years.
But in i… morentense moment, when you dont have a time to really think about "what you are saying"? It can slip easily if it comes to her mind.
We all know those situations when you are angry, excited, etc... so much that you say the FIRST word that comes to mind and having hearing it all around her, it might be as well be a F-bomb. Of course that wouldnt mean that she would start to use it in every other sentence right?
Punish, no correct behaviour, yes i would. I guess that i am in the mindset that even the smallest thing matters. What use is surviving without rebuilding and should someone actually manage to build something stable, some "old world" norms could, would and should be used again. Thats my 2 cents, let us just agree to disagree.
Edit: i think i might come off more strict than i am
I thought there might have been. I might have to replay the episode and find out. I thought there might have been, but I may just be confusing The Wolf Among Us with The Walking Dead.
Sure, i'll make sure my kids (and any children such as fictional Clementine) are free to speak their mind when they have authority to. That's all i'm saying.

I won't be having kids for a long time, i'm just a teenager, but if you still want proof years from now, i'd be glad to show you well behaved kids that are free to speak their mind when they have the authority to.

Let me remind you it's the FUCKING APOCALYPSE.

Good point.I am sorry.I thought you wanted to compare them.
Still no reason to be bad mannered.
I upvote and downvote based on a complicated algorithm involving the ritual sacrifice of animals, you wouldn't understand.
7 thumbs down seriously? If you let your kids swear then you are idiots.

I don't have kids but I would let my kids swear. If you didn't know, swearing is a good way to get rid of your anger. It's been proven to be healthy.

Look, if you want to punish your current or future kids into not swearing, go ahead, but Clementine is her own person, even though she is fictional.
Which is a poor excuse.

Well I just had a "that's sexist" moment. Sorry for being my own stereotypical self :P
Are you really going to sit there and compare shooting someone in the face with using a "bad" word?
I am surprised so many ways by this girl that I lost the count of them.
That is my point.how can it be healthy?
No, I'm not. I'm using it as an example that simply because it's the apocalypse doesn't mean there should be exceptions to what was once considered right and wrong.

No problemo pal

Yeah, although if she swears like a certain other female teenage character -cough- Ellie -cough- then I would probably be annoyed by it.

I mean yeah, obviously it's difficult to prove but it helps me when i'm pissed off.
Same, i said something similar in another comment earlier.
and just because you let your kids swear doesn't mean your an idiot
I mean if you ever have kids, show me proof then.
She already calls two (?) people out this season for using said words
when did she do this? i dont remember sorry...
i get what your saying, the word might slip out
i don think there was an option to do that. was there?
Cluke
Lee in Season 1, Alvin in Season 2

Alvin and Rebecca were the ones I was referring to.
If you blackmail him before entering the cabin.
