Yes. Because Kenny has totally proven time and time again how dedicated he is to verbal purity...

  • True. I almost feel as if I should go back and hold off on the optional swears in my playthrough of the second episode... if I make Clementine hold in all of her swears they would be even more surprised at her "first swear" ;)

Perhaps after all the shit goes down and whoever's with her starts arguing with each other and she gets fed up with it and just shouts "Shut the fuck up." That'd get them to shut their mouths and look at her I'd bet.

7 thumbs down seriously? If you let your kids swear then you are idiots.

    I don't want a 11 year old saying that.

  • Proven to be healthy?? how does some swearing that could cause some mental breakdown can be healthy?(By mental breakdown I mean the effect we can cause to others by saying bad words to them)

Swearing helps let out bottled up anger. Although a lot of people don't like it, it's been proven to be healthy.

  • I don't have kids but I would let my kids swear. If you didn't know, swearing is a good way to get rid of your anger. It's been proven to be healthy.

  • I never said Clem should swear towards anyone. I honestly don't want her to unless it's Carver. Although, swearing in general has been proven to be healthy.

  • Look, if you want to punish your current or future kids into not swearing, go ahead, but Clementine is her own person, even though she is fictional.

  • Which is a poor excuse.

I shot someone in the face for food: Who cares? It's the apocalypse.

The apocalypse shouldn't be an excuse for uncivil behavior. Either way, I thought you were talking about punishment for swearing in general, not just in Clem's case.

No, I'm not. I'm using it as an example that simply because it's the apocalypse doesn't mean there should be exceptions to what was once considered right and wrong.

Going to make a separate thread about this; seems like an interesting topic.

  • I agree. I bet we'll see one good Precision F-Strike come out Clem this season. But it would be weird for her to start blurting out swears like Kenny or Larry used to.

I personally don't want her to swear a lot but a few swears here and there would be cool Sorry, I just think it's awesome when Clem swears, it just reminds me of when I was her age.

  • Yeah, although if she swears like a certain other female teenage character -cough- Ellie -cough- then I would probably be annoyed by it.

Well like I said, if you'd like to think this way, you can. I just don't agree with it although you have the right to your opinion but just a warning, not a lot of people will be happy with the thread by the looks of things, but that happens everywhere so yeah :P

  • Thank you so much for showing this juice box.I read it but the tone of article makes it like a theory and I think the experiments can not explain it compeletely.I refuse to believe that because I experienced it that how it can cause bad effects too and it doesn't worth to say it even if it makes you happier or healthier.anyway, thanks for helping me.

I can agree with you on that her view on swearing is one of her few traits she kept onto from S1, and I hope it doesn't change in the near future because it still shows she hasn't lost all of her innocence yet.

Punish, no correct behaviour, yes i would. I guess that i am in the mindset that even the smallest thing matters. What use is surviving without rebuilding and should someone actually manage to build something stable, some "old world" norms could, would and should be used again. Thats my 2 cents, let us just agree to disagree.

Edit: i think i might come off more strict than i am

Sure, i'll make sure my kids (and any children such as fictional Clementine) are free to speak their mind when they have authority to. That's all i'm saying.

  • I won't be having kids for a long time, i'm just a teenager, but if you still want proof years from now, i'd be glad to show you well behaved kids that are free to speak their mind when they have the authority to.
