Show or the game?
For all who have seen the show and have played walking dead, which do you like better? I think they are both good, but I personally like the game more.

Game, by leaps and bounds.
Other than Glenn and Daryl, I really couldn't care less about what happens to any of the characters on the show at this point.
The game has an amazing story with amazing characters. The ability to make choices is the cherry on the top.
I'm a big fan of the comics and I like to see parts in the comics come alive.
Game>Show IMO
game, but i do like the show a lot
You sure like to post threads a lot, huh? :P But at least they're all interesting
Personally, I think the show is a little bit overrated, but I like it. I don't LOVE it, but I like it. TTG's TWD, though, I love so freaking much!
Yeah i do too much threads
Game, because nothing can beat that immersion of actually being Lee, and having influence on decisions.
Easily the game, even with the show's recent improvements in Season 4.
I've heard the show is dumb horseshit.
The game, the show is just boring now in my opinion.
Did marathon of show through all seasons in two weeks never seen before after playing game loved them
S1= This is Awesome fast paced good storyline good character depth with gore and shocking gruesome scenes I like 8/10
S2= Mostly telling myself every episode something going to happen next episode WATCH never did but loved the barn unveil with the child 6/10
S3= The governor stole the show my favorite character what a badass with good script and perfect actor just for him 9/10
S4= First few so boring but governor returned with a tank HELL Yeah but then SPOILER he got killed and so did the show more cutbacks all next episodes no action just watching carl have teenage problems and eating cereal did not like. 7/10
Game
Walking Dead s1= 10/10 just superb perfection
Walking Dead S2= 8/10 only played ep 1
But game wins
Game. I've tried to watch the show and I just couldn't get into it. The game just completely absorbed me.
Is this a rhetorical question? I could care less about characters in show, game completely spoiled me and made the show look like garbage, still watch it every week though, gives me something to look forward to and helps pass time till next episode of the game.
Say what you will about delays, but TWDG never has shitty filler episodes. Everything that happens takes place for a reason and has far reaching effects. The show can't even boast an interesting cast... Honestly (hate me if you must) the voice actors in TWDG portray more character in an hour-and-a-half than I've seen Carl demonstrate for the entire run of the show.
game by far out of all 3 twd media (show, game and comic) the show is the worst of the bunch
I love all the walking dead series the show has vastly improved in season 4 and I am actually starting to like all the characters(except Maggie and glenn that love story is getting boring). But even so I still got to go with the game because the game is awesome and makes you feel like your actually there plus the story in the game is better and faster paced than the show not to mention. Both have things I love about them but like I said I gotta go with the game.
I agree the game wins but the governor in the show was boring to me. The comic governor is vastly superior.
Yep I gotta go with the game too best game I ever played in my opinion but like you said the show has actually got better in season 4. Still
Game>>>>Show
But the governor still had a great actor
I love The Walking Dead itself but the game has a special place in my heart. I mean all can see about The Walking Dead is Rick. Comics, TV Show, everything is about him. And that's kinda boring actually. But the game is diffrent. It has a fresh story, diffrent characters, and it shows you the zombie apocalypse from a different perspective. Long story short; I personally like the game more.
I like both equally, and I even want to start getting into the comics one day
Do it. Comixology has a $75.00 sale for EVERY issue ever released until the 1st of April.
The show or the game, hmm...
I am not at all impressed by the show's writing or entertainment value, but I love the game.
Agreed. I honestly wouldn't cry if anyone from the show died... Glenn is awesome but he's just no Lee and he's not like anyone in the game, but he is my favorite in the show, if I had to choose.
I feel like the show also relied on things like sex scenes and romance to get people into it. The game has little to no romance and no suggested sex scenes because it's just so good that it doesn't even need that kind of audience.
I love the game. I sort of like the show but it's just all very predictable if you ask me. The game also is interactive, which is great because I hated when things like in the last of us, Joel is a bit of a dick and I wouldn't have said the sort of things he'd said to Ellie, if it were my choice. The comics are good just really gruesome, almost a bit too much to the point where the comics are screaming "Isn't this gross and a horrible situation?" just for a shock factor... or so it seems.
Anyway, telltale deserves every past and upcoming awards they receive for this game. The game wins.
Yeah, and that's also something that can make me kind of uncomfortable and I'm really relieved that TWDG doesn't do any of that.
To be fair, the sex in the show, to my understanding, is drastically toned down from the comics, and the game has the advantage of not having to uphold anything from the comics. I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen fans of the comic talk about how badass Tyreese was in the comics because he got blowjobs from Michonne and Carol in the same day or whatever the hell they said. In the show, the only sex that wasn't also in the comics was the Governor and Andrea, and then Governor and Lilly, and both were pretty tame too. The rather long Glenn and Maggie sex scene in season 3, while being a natural inclination between the two characters, is one of the few times I think the show really overdid it. Of course, "Arrow on the Doorpost" was a lousy episode altogether anyway, and the sex was the least of its problems.
For some reason, I just abhor the show. I watched the first season and just hated it and found it boring. But I played the game and loved it.
The game definitely wins, no question.
The problem with the show is more in its behind the scenes bullshit than its concepts, I find. AMC are a bunch of bastards who really want to cut the budget as much as they can to save every little penny despite the show's wild popularity. And then there's the firing of Darabont for those budgetary reasons, and hiring Mazzara who was an incompetent idiot who apparently killed off Andrea because of his problems with the actress (so I've heard, but even if it's not true, it doesn't change the fact that a lot of his ideas were stupid). And then there's the overdone song montages, which, even though I wind up loving most of them as they really are good songs, are obviously being put in to pump out another "original soundtrack", while not allowing for Bear McCreary's original score to be put out for no other reason than that they're a bunch of assholes.
Really makes you appreciate the teamwork that goes into TellTale's behind the scenes dealings, doesn't it? :P
I think the show has gotten much better this latest season than before. The characters are actual characters now and are quite likable, in my opinion. Seriously, compare all the group members currently getting development and their own stories to most of the group besides Daryl, Rick, and Hershel in Season 3 sitting around at the prison and doing nothing. Season 4 also boasts some new original ideas like the flu virus which spawned one of the better, more atmospheric arcs that held my attention just as well as any TellTale episode of TWD, because it was more about the characters being at odds with each other while facing an unseen enemy, something very interesting in a world usually dealing with good/bad people and walkers.
If I'm being totally honest, I think the game has its own share of silly moments in the writing that people give a pass to, but give the show shit for, but I suppose that speaks for itself that the game holds their attention so much that they're able to look past some of its flaws. But ultimately, the game has way superior pacing and character writing that noticeably draws people in. While back on the right track, the show has a long way to go to reach those kind of engrossing moments the game has so much of.
If Rick dies, i will be pissed. Comics and TV show. I'm up to date with the comics, so i know who is bound to die (If they don't change it up.)
But i enjoy the game more.
I would choose the game. The show is kinda boring, and I like the comic better
This is the forum for the game so most opinions would be one sided for the game, that said i would chose the game 100%
Game by far. The storyline in the game is amazing. The comic is great too, it doesn't hold back. The show's all right, I like the acting performances by most of the actors and the makeup and cinematography is great as well.
The game just has more integrity to it, I like it more than the comic and the show it has great voice acting, dialogue, character and a great ost.
This game is one of the best things that has happened to the video gaming world in recent years.
Game is 100 times better than show. In the game we have emotions, action, non-forgetable characters.
In show we just get bored and didn't care of any character. The first and second season were OK, but now this show reaaaally sucks.
I prefer the game, sometimes imo the show is really "trash". I also don't like the current season
The show has some pretty bad moments, definitely, but Season 4 has been really good so far. Probably the best overall. The game definitely is the winner of the two though, because like others have said, and you already know, the immersion factor of making choices makes all the difference.
Lol, glad this isn't just a personal phenomenon then.
The game is far superior, show's A-okay but... nothing special after its first season..
Show or game? Game or show? Game show? Game show!
I'm a fan if the walking dead game show..... copywrite!
