  • Well, yes and no, im specificly talking about 1 situation involing Carlos and Sarah, as i said it depends on the situation. I allways try to save people when i can, but those situations arent exactly "life or death" if you know what i mean. And lets be honest, ben never intended to hurt anyone, practicly all of his mistakes were accidental.

In the end our objective "or rather, our mindset" is to help clem survive so lee's sacrifices were not for nothing, so yes, i WILL save clem no matter the cost, becuase we, as the player, are the last good thing going for clem right now, we are her only real chance, and its up to us to do everything we can to save her.

You have to wonder, if TTG made Clems fate a life or death decision, and we choose if she lives or dies in episode five, where there will truly be no going back, how many people would choose to save clem? Lets assume that happen. i will predict it now, around 90% of players will save clem. Why you ask? becuase not only is it our job, but i can't help but believe that majority of people who will play this game care about clementine just as much as Lee did, and that, is beyond true.

We all love Clementine, as lee said, "She is the last good thing in this world" and i will fight the entire world before i let clem die, and in the end, thousends of other players, are gonna do the same.

So you would only help if you were sure there was no risk to Clem(yourself)? TBH that reminds me a lot of Ben's mindset, save yourself at any cost (even at the cost of Clem's life).

  • Leaving Clem and stealing supplies wasn't accidental. But maybe it was a mistake to bring Ben up so lets not turn this into a conversation about him.

That is where my view differs from a lot of other fans. I don't see the Lee dying purely so Clem can continue, in his eyes that was probably the case, but to me it means she gets to carry on and continue to be good, to share love and morality and all the things she stood for in season 1. She might have to bend the rules she stood for or even break them sometimes, but it is all so she can continue to do good overall. That is my view, though.

I could never argue that point. The %'s would be laughably one sided. I would be one of the 90% thats for sure! As I said, she may need to break them sometimes.

  • Oh, stop it you! Making me blush!

But seriously, I was tired of looking up what others wrote for this outcome and all they do is have Clementine beat up Carlos.

So I thought, "why not give this discussion an actual depiction of what this scene would look like?" I just ruled out the characters personalities and the previous events to make realistic scene. The important thing is to not make Carlos a one dimensional asshole and to not make Clementine a one dimensional tough girl.

Thanks for reading and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Like I said, if I come up with something for saving Nick, I'll be more than happy to share it with you.

PS: Being a writer at Telltale Games would be THE SHIT. But I still have a lot to learn.

Why isn't Telltale letting you make the script?! This was awesome!

  • If you saved Nick.

Let say after saving Nick, him and Clem head back to the cabin. Along the way, he hasn't said a word. He just looks depressed. Once they finally reach the cabin, Luke is there waiting for them to return. He notices someone is missing.

    • Luke: Wait...where's Pete?
    • (Nick gives no eye contact to Luke as he walks by him)
    • Nick: Ask her.
    • (Nick walks into the cabin. Luke looks back at Clementine)
    • Luke: What happened?

The whole group (except Nick who's sitting near a window downing a bottle of whiskey) is sitting at the kitchen table. Clementine has just finished explaining everything that happened near the river.

    • Rebecca: Oh my God...Pete.
    • Alvin: I can't believe this.
    • Carlos: You said they were all killed by Carver?
    • Clem: No, that's what Nick and Pete said--
    • Nick: It WAS him.
    • (The group turns to look at Nick, who's now partially drunk)
    • Nick: When I find him, I'm gonna fucking kill him.
    • (Luke gets up from the table and walks over to Nick)
    • Luke: Hey man, just take it easy okay? I think you've had enough.
    • (Luke attempts to take the booze away from Nick, but Nick snaps and gets up in front of him)
    • Nick: BACK OFF! I JUST...NEED IT OKAY?!
    • Luke: Oh ok ok. Alright, just take it easy bud.
    • (Nick turns his attention to Clementine, who's looking at him with pity)
    • Nick: You! I knew we should've killed you when we could!
    • Luke: HEY! Take it easy!
    • Rebecca: Finally, someone makes some goddamn sense.
    • Carlos: Sarah go to your room.
    • Sarah: ...Fine.
    • Nick: No, stay! I want everyone to hear this. She didn't tell you everything! It's her fault Uncle Pete's gone! She could've saved him, but she came to me instead!
    • Clem: [I thought you needed me] [I panicked] [...]
    • Rebecca: (glaring at her) Seriously?
    • Alvin: You just abandoned him?
    • Carlos: Nick could've taken care of himself. Why did you choose him over someone who needed your help the most?
    • Clem: I went to Nick because...Pete was bitten.
    • (a few seconds of silence. Nick goes from angry to sad. He paces around the room. He then throws his whiskey bottle out of frustration and leaves the kitchen)
    • Carlos: Maybe if you got him sooner, we could've amputated--
    • Clem: No. It never works. Ever.
    • Rebecca: How the fuck would you know?
    • Alvin: Rebecca would you cut her some slack already?
    • Clem: Because I had a friend who got bit trying to save me. He hoped it would have worked, but it didn't.
    • Carlos: You mean Lee?
    • (That get's Clem's attention. She looks at Luke)
    • Luke: I had a talk with him about you. Trying give him more reason to trust you. No need to worry kid.
    • Carlos: No. There IS need to worry. If Carver is out there killing people, then who knows if he might find us?
    • Rebecca: I think SHE knows (gesturing to Clementine)
    • Clem: What?
    • Rebecca: I don't remember seeing you with a backpack when we first saw you. Wanna explain that to us?
    • Clem: I found it near the river. Next to someone who attacked me and my friend. He was alive, but dying.
    • Alvin: Hmm...
    • Carlos: What? Did he tell you anything? Any names?
    • Clem: No. He didn't. He was with a group of people when he found us.
    • (A few seconds of silence. Luke gets up)
    • Luke: We gotta go find Pete. The least we can do put him out of his misery.
    • (Sarah peeks her head out the kitchen door and looks at front door)
    • Carlos: Sarah, what are you doing?
    • Sarah: Someone's outside...

  • Haven't seen this thread in a long while. Anyone think it's still possible? Maybe we revised with Carver as the victim?

  • I doubt it's gonna happen now considering Telltale changed Rebecca and Carlos's attitudes towards Clem. And Carver doesn't seem the type to insult Lee in front of Clem if he wants to manipulate her.

  • I can agree with that. But your Carver theory is contingent on Carver

    A. Trying to manipulate her

    B. Trying to manipulate her through nice acts. If he tries to control her via punishment/fear like, it seems, he does with his other subordinates then this could very well be right up his alley.

  • I'm starting to believe this could somehow happen with Carver. Just a little revised.

I can see this happening, maybe with Carver criticizing Clem's manual labor.

-Carver: Useless...didn't that man you were with teach you anything, Clementine?

    Clem's Dialogue

    • A: Don't talk about him!
    • X: Fuck you...
    • Y: ...
    • B: I'm sorry, okay?!

Any option would probably result in Clem running off in tears, but telling Carver off would be awesome!

  • Very revised yeah, haha.

I still think it would be a cool scene.

  • Honestly, I wonder what Carver would do if Clem hauled off and bitch-slapped him. He's an egotistical maniac who won't hesitate to hit a kid. On the other hand, I think he respects Clem or at least thinks she has guts.

what if there was a (point gun at him) option?

and then when she points it at him she says in an aggressive mad voice: LEE thought me how to do this. LEE thought me how to defend my self. LEE thought me how to survive. And what did you teach your daughter? you thought her how to be AFRAID

    Viva-La-Lee posted: »

Tiered aggressive responses, angrier and angrier, I like it.

  • I expect to see a highly tensioned and uneasy friendship developed between the two. Clem knows who he is and what he's capable of doing with little hesitation, but, as you said, I think Carver respects here at some sort of level. I have a feeling Clementine will realize this and this 'truce' will be vital to the ongoing story.

I'd still love to see Clem sport her disobedience/respected position by snapping on him. And what better way to do this than by making it an emotional reaction by talking bad of Lee?

  • I bet Carver wants to groom Clementine to eventually become his second-in-command. Think about it; she's tough and very intelligent, while still young enough to be molded a zealous convert. My guess is that he'll treat her reasonably well and try to exploit the friction between Clem and the cabin group.

Kenny would probably throw a wrench in this plan though. He clearly doesn't like Carver, plus he is someone Clem knows well and (mostly) trusts.
