Why did Carver take K****?
This is a thing I just recently started wondering about.
When Carver attacks to get back "his people" at the end of episode 2, why did he take Kenny, Sarita and technically Walter? (Considering that if Walter hadn't gotten killed he would probably have been taken away too)
It kind of makes sense why he would decide to bring Sarita and Walter since he seems to like bringing every survivor he finds to get an even bigger group then we already assume he has.
But why Kenny?
If the situation was a bit different and Kenny had gotten capture from the start I wouldn't think it was too weird, but Kenny killed one of Carvers men. I just find it a bit strange that he'd still think that it would be a wonderful idea to bring a man who just shot someone (and could also shoot Carver in the shoulder). I'm just a little bit curious as to why Carver would decide to risk it instead of just killing him.
I mean, I know they're beard buddies and all that but is that really enough reason? Or is Carver really that determined to add new people to his group?
Comments
If he left them behind he probably would see them as a threat as Kenny and his crew would try to save Clem and her crew as they have been taken unwillingly
He wants his pound of flesh from Kenny and will not be satisfied with a quick death. Or maybe he was impressed by Kenny's guts and he'd like to harness that boldness for his own ends. He may be convinced he can turn Kenny around to his way of thinking.
It could be that Carver recognizes Kenny's skills as a marksman, and may want to see if he can convince Kenny to join him.
Kenny has obviously become a crack shot!
And Carver obviously ain't stupid.
Carver is bound to appreciate skill when he sees it.
Or in his case, gets to experience it first hand, LOL!
He'll probably want to see if he can convince Kenny to join him.
And if not, he'll probably set his sights on making an example of Kenny.
I'm sure when Carver attempts to do so, Kenny's gonna surprise Carver and kick his fucking ass!
So kenny wouldn't go after him for revenge for killing walter
I concur.
No sense wasting good slave labor.
I do agree night owl.
About Carver wanting to get Kenny to side with him.
But it ain't gonna happen!
Kenny is a bit on'ry sometimes, and has killed to survive.
But he's not a cold-blooded murderer!
Even after he put Larry down, Kenny showed remorse and took responsibility for it.
And when Shawn Greene, Herschel's son, was killed, Kenny showed himself to be thoroughly broken up over it.
Even before Duck was bit!
When Lee and Kenny were at the drugstore, while on a supply run at the beginning of episode 3 of season 1, Kenny brought up about how what happened to Shawn fazed duck, with a look of sorrow, Kenny stated how he would always worry that duck would feel responsible for it.
If you really think about it, Kenny was trying to say, without actually stating it at that time, that he felt like he killed Herschel's son.
Even when Lee and Kenny first met Lilly and the others, Kenny called Lee over and expressed regret and a feeling of responsibility for what happened to Shawn.
That proves that Kenny is not a murderer at heart.
That he's still a good man!
And will do everything he can to get Clementine, Sarita and the others out of this mess.
And knowing Kenny, if all what he suffered in the 1st game, and in between, couldn't kill him, then I strongly doubt that Carver, ( A.K.A shitbird), will be able to kill Kenny.
Let alone convince or force Kenny to join his army.
And Clem too, actually. She has nothing to do with Carver. It may be a preemptive messure, in case they feel like getting back at Bill. But if that were the only reason, then why not just shoot them? It's not like Carver has any issues with cold-blooded murder.
To me, it has more to do with his big fat ego. In the preview of episode 3, he mentions how people must accept his community's love, "or they'll sure wish they had". I think he likes power and using people as his pawns probably helps. He knows Kenny is going to be hard to control, but he can threaten to hurt Sarita and Clem and keep him in line. Judging by what we've seen so far, I'm sure he enjoys that.
Gotta say, I love your name.
But anyway, yeah that makes sense. If there's anything that's obvious it's the fact that Carver's a controlfreak. That twat.
I actually do look forward to seeing Kenny vs Carver now, in the "Kenny hates being controlled but Carver love to control" way.
Yeah, Clem should probably let Carver know that it's impossible to change Kenny's opinion on things. It is a power struggle that I'd like to see though (As long as it doesn't lead to Kenny's death)
It's a little like the Kenny vs Lilly, actually. Kenny being chaos and Carver and Lilly being almost military discipline.
And thanks for the compliment on the username . Who doesn't miss Bromid?
More prisoners means more workers.
In actuality I would have expected nothing more than a bullet to the face for Kenny. Any man, especially Carver, would realize Kenny is a detriment to his overall goals.
But as per the case of Kenny.... he can't die.
You're right about that. Carver will probably like having someone like Kenny, who impulsive and unpredictable, become submissive to him. I'm pretty sure he's a control freak in the worst way possible.
