What did you put on the Christmas tree topper?

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

When you are looking for the tree topper, you can choose either to place the angel topper or the star
on that Christmas tree, I put the angel topper and it says: "Sarah will remember that." What did you put
on the Christmas tree?

The star. When Sarah got mopey over that, I believe I uttered the phrase "This here's a non-denominational ski lodge. Happy Holidays, bitch."

  • I put the star on the tree because I wasn't paying attention when Sarah said that her family used to have an angel on their Christmas tree. It's probably nothing important but I'm a little worried it's gonna bite me in the ass later on.

I chose the angel because Sarah said that she normally put a angel on top of her tree and i wanted to make her hapy.

  • Star!

Creepy angel wasnt going on our tree. Sarah should have gotten the angel if she wanted it, have to admit I rolled my eyes at her pouty reaction, can't clem have what she wants for a change?

  • I chose the angel. I saw no harm in doing so and it makes Sarah happy.

She just saw Carver and his crew hold her and everyone she knew hostage at gunpoint, break two of her father's fingers, and execute at least one defenseless man in front of her. She probably won't mind the Christmas tree thing too much.

  • I chose the Angel because Sarah wanted the Angel, and as a preference I also use Angels on my Christmas trees too (on two of my three trees anyway, one has a star).

  • Maybe, I'm just a weirdo, but I actually saw it as an establishing character moment for Clementine. Putting the angel is symbolic of hope, youth and god. If Clem still believes in a greater power, in miracles, that there is some kind of providence, then it only makes sense to put the Angel on top. If the apocalypse turned Clem into a jaded skeptic, she would see the angel as representing something silly and immature.

Maybe, I look too closely into it, but that's my interpretation.

  • You must put the angel on top of the tree. If you don´t Sarah will die and return as a zombie and kill you all. Game over.

  • ... You have THREE trees?! Where do you live a mansion :0

  • Lol no, two big trees and a smaller (but still tall) one for my bedroom.

  • The Star topper is the way to go.

  • The star,i thought Sarita would appreciate it,as her family didn't celebrate christmas and i thought putting the angel on top was a bit religious.

  • I got the Christmas tree topper correct by sheer luck, I didn't even know that Sarah wanted the angel on top of the tree.

Then again I would have chosen the angel anyway, stars are boring.

The angel. Not only did I know it would appease Sarah, but I also always do the same with my tree.

I chose the angel, only because A) that's what my family puts on top of the tree every Christmas, and B) it seemed appropriate for my version of Clem, who tries to seek out spiritual warmth and reassurance even amidst the apocalypse.

  • I wish there was an option to put the duck with the Santa Claus hat on there. I would have gone for that in a heartbeat.

  • The angel, because I wanted to make it up to Sarah for accidentally hurting her feelings when I mentioned in front of her that her father had told me to 'distract her'.

  • The star because it'd look better. Screw Sarah, lol

  • I put the angel on because idk it feels like Lee is an angel now and he was like watching over everyone in the cabin.

Did anyone even choose the red ball? haha

  • I put on the Angel. It made Sarah happy, Sarita didn't complain so i thought the choice was better.

  • The Star, but just beacuse I forgot about Sarah and the angel LOL

  • I put the angel... Not so much because Sarah asked as because on our tree we always had an angel on top. And as my father set up the village at the bottom OMG the complaining "it's too far to the left/right!" Then the dog would walk in the middle... Because he didn't want to be left out... Oh childhood memories... "A Christmas Story" was an out-take of my childhood.

  • Glad I'm not the only one no followed tht line of thinking! Also, my family does an angel too, even though half of us are non-observant and the other half are avowedly atheist. It's strange, but it looks nice.

  • This was my reaction. Didn't want to go the religious route and geez, get over it, Sarah, let Clem have something good for one minute.

Star! Creepy angel wasnt going on our tree. Sarah should have gotten the angel if she wanted it, have to admit I rolled my eyes at her pouty reaction, can't clem have what she wants for a change?

  • The angel. Mainly because I have always had an angel on our tree. The fact it pleased Sarah was just a bonus.

  • Angel. I felt like it was more in-character of Clem.

I also feel that since angels are a symbol of hope, it would make the most sense. Doesn't matter if you are religious or not: hope is hope, no matter where it comes from. A star is a star, but an angel represents so much more.

I also have angels on top of my tree.

  • I want to be on Carlos's good side, so in order to do that I feel like I have to make Sarah happy as much as possible, so I put up the angel even though I think the star looks better. Plus I actually kinda cared about Sarah in this episode like when she sat down on the floor and looked all sad and when she started panicking.

I chose the angel to make Sarah happy, especially during these stressful days of travelling in which Sarah has probably been exposed to much more violence, walkers and other things outside of her comfort zone, which Carlos used to shelter her from. Although, if it wasn't for Sarah, I would've chosen the star, just because I think it looks a little better. : )

  • That angel was fugly as hell. I chose the star. Sorry, Sarah.

  • Doesn't the star actually make more sense as a symbol of hope though? I'm a bit rusty on the details of the nativity story but it was a star that guided the wise men to find Jesus at the manger, wasn't it? If so, then the star represents the coming of mankind's salvation in the form of Christ and that seems like it'd be much more significant than an angel. And outside of Christianity, the north star is seen as a symbol of guidance, especially for lost voyagers who could use it navigate through the unknown.

Angel. I felt like it was more in-character of Clem. I also feel that since angels are a symbol of hope, it would make the most sense.

  • The star is pretty. : )

  • Agreed. The star really has just as much thematic resonance as the angel, if not more.

    Sarah's a poo-poo head.

  • Chose the angel. Thought it'd be relevant for when Carver's group comes and we all get shot, there'd be a little angel watching over us.

  • I wanted to put the star on the tree since I'm an Atheist, but I put the angel instead because at that moment making Sarah a little happier was more important to me than my personal beliefs.

  • Pssh, scrubs. I unlocked the secret option for A STILL ANIMATE WALKER HEAD.

  • I like my video games secular, and damn it, I'm proud I put the star on the Christmas Tree!

  • So it doesn't matter either way... to be honest I haven't thought about it that way.

    ...

I wonder who put the ordainment on...
