I put the Angel on. I didn't really have a preference really so figured why not give Sarah her preference. We used to always have an angel on our tree when I was growing up but nowadays we tend to have star. xD
Maybe, I'm just a weirdo, but I actually saw it as an establishing character moment for Clementine. Putting the angel is symbolic of hope, … moreyouth and god. If Clem still believes in a greater power, in miracles, that there is some kind of providence, then it only makes sense to put the Angel on top. If the apocalypse turned Clem into a jaded skeptic, she would see the angel as representing something silly and immature.
Maybe, I look too closely into it, but that's my interpretation.
I don't hate Sarah, mind you @ the downvoters. I just think it's a bit silly to get upset over a Christmas tree decoration. It's not like she's going to bring that up on her 'deathbed'(?)
For me religion didn't enter into it, Sarah was excited and told us her family used an angel, so I decided to spread some Christmas cheer and give her that small bit of joy when the opportunity presented itself.
I put an angel considering that's what my family usually puts on the tree, I didn't really care for Sarah's opinion but I guess it's a plus if it made her happy?

On subsequent playthroughs, I go with the star because it's what my family puts up for Christmas. I don't care if Sarah doesn't like it, she can march her ass upstairs and change it herself if it bothers her so much.
I put the ornament first because I thought it was actually going to let you just look like a complete idiot by just putting an ornament at the top of the tree as a topper but I ended up doing the angel because I just hoped it would make Sarah not have to bring it up again.

I chose the star. Is it bad I don't like Sarah because of how innocent and spoiled she seems? I know it's absolutely not her AT ALL, but I still dislike her. So yeah. I chose the star partially to smite her, and partially because my family has always used a star on our tree.
I was another one of the players that didn't really pay attention to Sara & picked the angel anyway. I've warmed up a bit to Sara since episode 1 (and Carlos too - but I still want to see his medical license!)
