What is wrong with *** ? "Spoilers"

edited April 2014 in The Walking Dead

Carlos said that sarah would "cease to function" if she knew how the world really is.
Sarah had difficult to breath 2 times in episode 2 at the beggining, 1 when you are talking to her after the picture and one when she sees Carver knocking at the door.
Does this indique that Sarah has any mental problem?

  • I think so. But I don't know what exactly can be her problem.

  • Yeah that's what is hard to discover. I guess we will know for sure in episode 3.

It's probably an anxiety disorder. That's what it seems, more than a mental disorder. I had friend, Ashley, who was exactly like that. We were 11 years apart, but we were best friends, and she acted more like a 6 year old than a 15 year old. And she had an anxiety disorder. I only saw a handful of her panic attacks, but I know she had a lot.

  • No, she went to college. She's 24 now.

    Did she CEASE TO FUNCTION?

If anything would make her cease to function it's almost seeing her father get murdered to death. I think Carlos is just being dramatic, he needs to take the training wheels off or she wont survive.

"She'll die a little girl if you treat her like one. You gotta consider her a living person. That's it. You're either living or you're not. You ain't little, you ain't a girl, you ain't a boy, you ain't strong or smart. You're alive."

I think she just has anxiety issues that Carlos' overprotective parenting is just exacerbating. I think that's part of why Luke called him out on his behavior in episode 2 (along with whatever crap he did in the past). It may turn out the only reason she will "cease to function" is because she's never learned how to do otherwise.
