Which walking dead TV season was your favorite?

I'm curious on your guys opinion. I know almost all of us agree telltales Game is better including me but I like both anyways.

From Best to Worst:

Season 4

Season 1

Season 3 first half

Season 2

Season 3 second half

Been kind of going up and down between 'meh' and 'pretty good' since then, IMO.

  • 1 and 2 I liked Shane

  • I'm kinda torn between the first half of Season 3 and the first half of Season 4. Maybe Season 4, yeah, I'm gonna go with that.

  • Overall I'd say:

    Season 4

    Season 1

    Season 2

    Season 3

see I liked Season 3 but I think they really messed up with Andrea not to mention they totally failed on the governor arc and the finale

Plus not to mention michonne was kind of awful she got no character development till season 4

  • Season 2 probably, but 4 is really close..1 was nice and 3 was a meh

  • Season 4. On a technical level, season 1 is the best because AMC didn't know how good it was gonna do so they gave Darabont some free reign. Then they saw dollar signs and became the assholes they are at the moment.

But from a storytelling perspective, I feel that season 4 was better than season 1. It was certainly more consistent than 2 and 3, and just as consistent as 1, though 1 had it easy with six episodes and the characters all being in their infancy. For that reason, season 4 interested me more because the characters were more interesting at this point and everyone got their own storyline and focus. Also, nobody was ever written to be the one everybody hated, which was a big problem back in 2 and 3 with Lori and Andrea (in fact, all the women were pretty awesome or interesting this season, quite a big change from earlier writers). Even if you liked the characters (and I liked Andrea), it's pretty clear the writers either dropped the ball or really wanted us to dislike them.

  • Season 4 was the best, followed by Season 3

  • Season 4 is an easy favorite, followed up by Season 1, then 3 then 2.

season 3 was my favorite but it definitely did have it's flaws i really didn't like all the andrea parts she just felt so damn useless lol

S4 was definitely a rejuvenation in my eyes, and splitting the group up (which allowed for some well done and in some cases sorely needed character development and moments in the spotlight) was a great move. Overall I'd rank:

    Season 4

    Season 1

    Season 3

    Season 2

  • I think the new season, season 4, is the best one to date.
I like how the characters have developed.
    Especially Daryl.
Daryl and Herschel,( R.I.P) are my favorite characters!

  • I enjoyed 1 and 2 as well. Season 3 was good but not up to the same standard, and Season 4 seemed shorter than others because it got split in half.

  • edited April 2014

I thought season 3 got split also.

  • Right but I didn't watch the first three seasons when they aired. I started watching Season 1 in October last year, so I didn't have to wait until the season came back.

I thought season 3 got split also.

  • Season 4 - Disappointing ending but finally character development and action together

Season 2 - Slow but still the Shane/Rick stuff was great

Season 1 - I know most people really liked it but it was a bit up and down for me. I mean the zombies were climbing fences/smashing things with rocks and a gang kidnapped glenn as they were protecting a nursing home...

Season 3 - An action packed mess, I like the changes that occur from it but the showrunner wasted T-dog, destroyed Andrea's character and ruined woodbury.

  • I've only followed Season 1 and 4 on a weekly basis and I actually lost interest in the final few episodes of 1. 4 had me hooked from the first episode and I didn't watch 2 and 3 until they were finished. So I'd have to go with 4.

Season 4 was awesome and action-packed, with a lot of references to the comics, season 2 was just the most horrible piece of sh*t that was ever created.

    The reason?

Here's a hilarious video about it (It's mostly about season 2, but also season 1).

  • Season 3 and first half of 4 basically every episode with the Governor great character and quality actor every time you saw him chaos followed find him very entertaining and found whole town dynamic really cool but then again loved season 4 when developed the relationship with new family and brought tank to prison just badass

Season 1: Was obviously the best Season!

Season 3: Was good most of the times, exept the whole " Rick goes inshane " parts, the whole Andrea parts and the shitty ending.

Season 2: Was very bad most of the times, was protracted and had alot of logical Plot holes. (Sending Glenn into the fountain, Lorry driving away and making a car crash on an empty road for no reason and many more)

Season4: The whole first half of Season4 was unlogical, boring and unnecessary. The second half was a bit better, but following the stories of some characters that we just got introduced to out of nowhere, wasn't really interesting.

Mazzara wasted both black guys. Tdog and oscar not to mention how much they failed with michonne in S3

  • I wonder who will run the spinoff I hope its someone different. Don't give me wrong Gimple has nailed it this season fixing mazzaras mess but he needs to stay focused on the main series. Doing both would probably ruin the quality and I feel the spinoff would be the less focus if he did both.

But anyways here's to Gimple continuing to make the show better

I dont do best to worst because I enjoy the show as a whole, yeah, even season 2. I thought the last half of season 2 was when the show was really starting to ramp up. But as for my favorite, it has to be this past season 4. I loved the character development, the excellent way they integrate things from the comic, and even though I missed Rick when he wasnt around, I thought that separating the group and sending them on different paths was an interesting storytelling devise. I do hope that Scott Gimple sticks around because I think he has been great for the show. I don't agree the games are better either. Games are games and the show is the show. Completely different experiences for me.

  • Seasons one and two were the best but after that I started to realize there is a group of characters that are protected they are in no danger of getting killed daryl glen maggie rick michonne carl. If the story writing is good any character could get killed off and the show wouldn't miss a beat.I root for the walkers now.Anybody notice when the walkers kill a non main character they bite without hesitation but when it comes to a main character they get lock jaw

  • Season 1 was good. Other seasons was shit. The Walking Dead TV became the most unwatchable show on TV history.

  • Really? That's why you watched all of it?

  • Season one was the shortest, I wouldnt say it was the best. It gave us a great introduction to the world and the characters and then it was over. I fell in love with the show during the first season but I enjoyed the other seasons more because we got to expand the story and learn more about the characters. Well, I obviously disagree with you about season 4, I loved it and thought it was necessary to give us more background on the characters. Havent people always been complaining that we dont get enough character development. Nevertheless, they cant please everyone all the time.

  • My favourite is season 2, I know it didn't have much action but the drama and acting was so great and realistic. Shane is still the best character the TV series has had in my opinion! and so what if it was at a Farm for most of it, it was a great storyline.

After that season 1 and the start of season 3 were very good, but second part of season 3 and first part of season 4 were messed up, especially season 3, it just seemed like the standards had dropped so much it was a let down. Second part of season 4 was good as it had a lot of character development and slowed things down a bit which it needed to do after the mess left from the prison days. The finale however was a bit over the top in some scenes and the end line Rick said was cheap.

  • Season 4
    Season 3
    Season 1
    Season 2

Season 4 renewed my faith in the show tbh. It felt like I was watching something completely different but great.
