What if Comic Book Rick and Lee Swapped Places?

edited April 2014 in The Walking Dead

Don't worry guys this is not one of those tv show crossover threads this is just a what if thread about the comic

what if Lee was in a coma and Rick was on his way to jail and later found Clem on day 1 on the outbreak?

How would comic book rick react to the situations Lee was in? those who are reading the comics know that he does not take shit from anyone unlike tv show rick. Do you think he would have mauled people like the St Johns or Stranger? and how do you think Lee would have dealt with people like comic governor and negan or the hunters?

Comic Rick has many Kenny qualities which include hot hotheadedness and stubbornness. However Rick is smarter and better leader experienced. He'd do think closely to how Kenny does. Suspecting things left and right, but with a more level headed smarter approach. And he would've definitely killed the St. Johns and been more harsh on Ben and more suspicious of new joiners like Omid and Christa. and for sure would've brutally killed the stranger in the most brutally brutal way possible. He would've gone about his goodbyes close to the same way Lee did though I think.

Lee....well Lee's kinda harder to say since he's a playable character who's personality is sorta tailor-able, however if we were to say it was most people's paragon Lee. Then I'd say Lee wouldn't kill the people that Rick and the group didn't need to kill when they've beat them. Like the cannibals/hunters. And he would refuse to even pretend to yeild to Negan, as stupid as that would be and might sound, Lee doesn't strike me as the type of guy who'd even pretend to surrender on an extended period of time. He would take less renegade decisions and would disagree/fight/argue a bit less with his group members and offer more help and charity.

  • I think....they would both still kick ass. Though the comics have a much darker tone than the games, right? Rick probably wouldn't be as good of a guardian to Clementine as Lee was, especially since he already has a kid to look after.

  • It depends, I guess how i'll take it is that Rick found clem instead of his family and Lee was in a coma.

I think Lee would have less to drive him without clem and without being attached to carl and lori. That said I think the atlanta group might just get killed as they refused to move (rick was the main reason for them to move on)

Rick would have been simaler to Lee I think in how he handled things. However I feel he'd never stop looking for his wife and kid

  • yea true he even says something at one point along the lines of I don't have to help anyone else's child cause they ain't mine but who knows maybe if he found clem and was with her for a while and became attached to her it might be different but I doubt it

  • Rick- Rick would ease Clementine as his own. He would have gotten into a relationship with Carley, brutally murder the stranger and never let the Bandits win.

  • Rick would've let Clem die.

  • you are probably right like I said before he says something at one point in the comics along the lines of I don't have to help anyone else's child cause they ain't mine but who knows maybe if he found clem and was with her for a while and became attached to her it might be different

    Rick would've let Clem die.

  • pretty much what I was thinking in fact now that I think about it Rick would have probably brutally murdered Lily for shooting Carley
