Determinant Deaths?
A lot of people wonder how the determinant deaths are gong to affect the story. I began wondering if these determinant death are designed to make room for more characters, namely the other 400 days characters. Thoughts?

It would be interesting to see if Alvin and Nick were killed in E2, there are two characters that sort of take their place and bring in their own part of the story. But if Alvin and Nick are still alive, they still have an important part of the story line, and we don't see those other two characters. So we'd still have the main plot, but different choices for subplots. Kinda like the Carley/Doug thing, but on a bigger scale.
I'd also like to see some serious repercussions of the determinant deaths. Not just "Oh, they died. We're sad. Let's move on." Something more critical to the plot. Like Rebecca slips into depression or tries to get rid of the baby when Alvin dies. Or Luke flips out on us and refuses to help Kenny/Sarita because Walter let Nick die.
I just hope the determinant characters are more fleshed out and we aren't just waiting for them to become walker bait.
I was a little upset myself that there was no way to change pretty much anything other than who dies and if people are pissed off or not. It reminded me a lot of how Mass Effect let you make all these decisions throughout 3 games just for you to have to pick from 3 endings no matter what you did. MOST OF ALL THOUGH I just want episode 3 to have at LEAST a release date! these guys are killing me here lol
Honestly, I think telltale made the biggest mistake in by putting Carley and Alvin as determinant characters.
HEY! You were able to change when they die but they all end up dead anyway..
I'm assuming you couldn't care less about Nick?
Yeah what's wrong with u
I had the same thought. The situation would be more like Ben's death vs Carley/Doug.
Hmm, that's a possibility, I think Alvin will probably die regardless, it would be interesting if TTG let Nick live or at least until EP5. Besides the two determinant characters so far, I think there will be a lot of death and sad moments this season...prepare for a feel trip people.
I think 400 days characters will come and go independently of the determinate characters. Hopefully these characters won't be mirrors of each other (IE, choose one or the other, but they die in the spot anyway). Or even if they don't die in the exact spot, die right in the opening of the next episode. Nick lived in mine, if he dies right away I'll be pissed. Not because I liked him as much as I thought he added an interesting character and storyline.
I think it would be hard to create the story if it were not the case that somewhere in the near future, they die. If a character is able to die early in the series then he/she should not have too much effect on the future of the series. There is only so many "what if" scenarios telltale can make with the series.
Well, I've been counting and... yeah...
I agree, but telltale would be giving up so much potential, character development, and story by killing alvin and kick so early
Well... Doug and Carley lived for 2 more episodes after their deaths. Maybe Nick and Alvin can live for three. At least Nick, because... Fuck it, you saw my picture.
That's my point. We couldn't save Carley, Lee, any of them just prolong it for characters like Carley, Ben, etc. I just was hoping choices would make more of a difference that's all.
