So, you want someone who could possibly bail the group out from the outside be caught by Caver?
Atleast We know that someone could help us form the outside.
You've made some good points.
But I do disagree with you about Luke running away like that.
You don't just bail when things get tough.
An… mored if you've got someone to look after, you owe it to them to stay.
Luke should've been there for her, and he wasn't.
At least Kenny stuck it out with Clementine.
At least Kenny didn't run out on her when everything went to hell in a handbag.

I'd be fine with Luke being her new guardian. Sure, he doesn't protect her like Lee did, but I'm fine with that because she doesn't need to be babied anymore. He's teaching her how to be a good person, and giving her a taste of what it's like to be treated as an adult, while Ken would have trouble with both. He isn't much of a great person, and he associates her too much with his son to ever quit treating her like a little kid (at least in my opinion. Maybe episode three will prove the second part of that wrong, though we've known Ken for long enough to know the first ain't true, at least not for me).
One thing I do know, is that when you know a child when they're little, even when they get older, you will always see them as that little kid you knew years ago.
And I know from personal experience, it can be very hard to change that view.
So I can understand where Kenny is coming from!
Granted, Clementine doesn't need to be babied anymore.
But she still does need guidance, as she is still only 11 years old.
Still has quite a ways to go before she's ready to be on her own.
Luke does seem to be helping her to grow, in becoming more self sufficient and confident.
And Luke can definitely teach Clementine a thing or two about dealing with walkers.
But he doesn't have experience in being a father/mentor.
Kenny on the other hand, not only has more life experience, but he also has the experience of being a parent.
So he does have a better understanding of what the needs of a child are.
And being older, Kenny also has a better understanding of people, and wouldn't be as inclined to make the mistakes that someone Luke's age might.
Not saying Luke hasn't done Clementine well, nor that he isn't a smart guy, but Kenny will always have those advantages over him.

I do agree, it's a difficult idea to get used to.
Especially with Kenny in the picture.
In many ways I think Kenny would be better suited to the task of taking care of Clementine.
And admittedly, Luke's disappearing during Carver's raid, doesn't help build my confidence in him.
But I guess will see what Luke's made of in season 3.

I do agree Kenny does seem to have an ,"agree with me or fuck off," attitude.
And he does have bouts of anger and depression, which are not surprising though, considering that he lost everything he cared about in season 1.
So from that perspective, I do feel a deep sympathy for Kenny.
Luke does seem more happier, and definitely more level headed and reasonable.
And those are qualities I admire, and incidentally, try to apply in my own life.
But I still don't know Luke that well.

I think Clementine can definitely benefit from Luke's optimistic attitude and reasonableness.
As an optimistic viewpoint will help a person get through very dificult times.
However I will say that Kenny's pro's with a rifle are undeniable, not to mention extremely handy.
Until I know Luke better, I will be more apt to trust Kenny, just cause of having more history with him, and knowing who and what he is.
As time progresses, and provided Luke doesn't do something stupid, my trust in him will grow.
I agree with most of this.

Interesting view I must say.
Granted, Clementine seems to be no stranger, when it come to dealing with walkers.
However, there's always something new she can learn.
Like handling a rifle.
That's never not useful.
And Kenny obviously has the know-how, nevermind the skills, to train Clementine to be a crack shot.
When you consider how he nailed Carver, who at the time was using Alvin as a human shield.
Even though Kenny didn't kill Carver, the fact that he nailed him is truly impressive!
And I do think, aside from knowing how to survive, she needs to have someone teach her how to be a good person.
Lee, in my game, gave her a good foundation, in that respect.
But now, like any construction project, further building needs to be done, so that eventually the task will be completed.
If I knew Luke better, I'd be more comfortable with him mentoring Clementine.
Luke seems like a nice guy, but then people are not always what they appear.
I know right now, if it came down to either siding with Luke or Kenny, I'd side with Kenny.
But I am willing to give Luke a chance, and let him show what he really is.
Hopefully, he turns out good!

I see Luke more as the "let's steal a lawnmower and plow over the neighbor's mailboxes" big brother type. But instead of mailboxes, they're walkers. I don't think he'd be the best role model for her, but I think he would grow to genuinely love her as a sister. And honestly, I don't think Clem needs a guardian. She needs a companion, but someone who sees her as an equal. In this sense, I would choose Luke.
Granted, this is all based on what we've seen in episodes 1 and 2. I like Luke, but I don't trust him 100%. I guess we'll have to see how his story plays out.

I'll admit, when planning a escape, having a man on the outside make sense.
But that's assuming Luke's gonna try and help, and that he didn't cut and run.
He didn't "cut and run." Here I'll explain it to you.
We all know Kenny. We also know that Kenny doesn't sugarcoat facts. Now if Clementine asks "where's Luke?" Kenny responds "Hell, I don't know. He was whining about somethin' or other, so I told him to take a hike." If Luke did run away, then you better believe that Kenny would be straight up with Clem. Actually, Kenny would actually be thrilled by the fact that he gets to tell Clem that Luke abandoned her and ran away like a coward. Think about it, Kenny dislikes Luke and wants the cabin group to leave while Clem stays with him. The thing that is keeping Clem conflicted in choosing Kenny is Luke. The only thing that stands between him and Clem is none other than Luke. If there's anything that Kenny could do to make Clem stay with him, he would do it. That includes making her dislike and distrust Luke.
Knowing Kenny this is what probably happened:
Luke and Kenny go to the transformers to see if they can get them back up. Since Walter is the one that brought electricity to the lodge, he would have probably taught Kenny how to fix it if it just so happens to go down again. While Kenny is trying to fix the transformers and Luke is protecting Kenny from lukers, Luke starts "whining" that they should go back to the lodge with the group. Kenny tells him to go "take a hike." Luke probably gets separated from Kenny by a surprise lurker attack that made him trip and fall down hill (since they're in a skiing resort that has a downhill). Knowing Kenny, he probably just said "I don't know" since he wants Clem to stay with him and if Clem is asking about Luke's well-being (which shows that she actually cares about him) then it's probably not wise for him to tell her that he left him behind with a bunch of lurkers at the bottom of the hill probably hurt.
I'll admit, when planning a escape, having a man on the outside make sense.
But that's assuming Luke's gonna try and help, and that he didn't cut and run.
I agree... But having sympathy doesn't make him a better guardian. I flat out do not want someone like that raising Clem.
We'll learn more as time goes on. If he throws up any red flags, Clem goes back to Christa.
He still protects her a little bit. He doesn't want to dump the cold harsh realities onto her... And I get the feeling that he left so that less people would get hurt, and so that he could help save them later.
I think Clem really needs less help with protection at this point, and more help with becoming a good person. I don't like the Carl-esque road Clem is going down. I mean, I fucking love Carl (in the comic... In the show, he sounds shitty), but Clem can't turn from the kind, sweet girl she was into him. That would be soul crushing. Also, there'll always be some bozo who can hold a rifle. Doesn't make him worthy of raising Clem.
My history with him is a bad history. I helped his son literally every single time he needed it. Even after he almost let me die. Then he said he didn't know if I'd be there for him. If that's the kind of person he is, then he can simply go fuck himself. I'd much rather trust Luke. Especially from Clementine's perspective. She has seen nothing but the worst of Kenny. Why the fuck would she be so excited to see him?
I do agree Kenny does seem to have an ,"agree with me or fuck off," attitude.

I've got a feeling (a bad one) that it is possible for Luke to become Clem's guardian. It's a profitable choice for the producers, and it's quite practical... BUT, Telltale's bigger on storytelling ethics than just mere profit, so I'm going to give my good faith and say no, they'll be more creative than that. Luke becoming a guardian is... honestly, kinda cliche. I got nothing against that guy, but it'd be more interesting for me to see an eleven year old survive all the way throughout the series without much help. That's what really set Clem apart as a character since the beginning of Season 2 (or hell, Season 1, if you wanna count her treehouse).
I trust him to watch Clem's back but if he expects to replace Lee in Clem's eyes... then he is delusional. Although he may come in second or third place but not by much.
You make a good convincing argument.
And Kenny's questioning Clementine about Luke can be seen as trying to sow seeds of doubt in her mind.
However, one can also argue that Kenny questioned her about Luke, so he can get a sense on what kinda person Luke is.
And since Clementine,( the player), has traveled with Luke, they would be in a good position to tell Kenny, what kinda person he is, or whether or not they trust him.
And, especially after the St John's incident, who can blame Kenny's wariness of strangers.
And Kenny possibly feeling threatened by Luke's relationship with Clementine, does make sense.
Think about it, in season 1, Kenny, Lee and Clementine spent a lot of time together, and after he lost his family, Kenny,( in my game), viewed Lee and Clementine as the only family he had left.
And with Lee dead now, Clementine is all Kenny has left, aside from Sarita, of people that are like family to him.
The thing that do irritate me about Kenny, even though I love the guy, are...
1, His Temper.
2, His being prone to panicking.
3, His not being real good at listening to others.
He didn't "cut and run." Here I'll explain it to you.

Exactly. It could end badly if he wasn't a good man and since Luke didn't know much about Walter, there was no way to tell what he would do.… more Luke was just protecting Nick, but at least had the decency to tell Clem about it. At least he didn't lie to Clem.
Not sure if decency had anything to do with it. Luke just assumed Clem would be of the same mind as him and would want to keep things quiet. He didn't hide it from Walter because he thought the guy was secretly a bad man. Luke was worried Walter might snap in the moment of truth. If he knew beforehand that Clem would blab to Walter/Nick in an attempt to do the "right thing", I wouldn't be surprised if he opted to keep it from her too.
Well if you say "I can't leave my friends." Kenny is surprised and hurt (maybe even pissed off). When Sarita says that the cabin group could stay with them, Kenny angrily says "NO!"

Wellington is just Boat 2.0. If going to Wellington gets everyone killed... i'm going to have to blame it on somebody and this time I know just who has their hearts set on it... cough Kenny. Sorry Ken.

It does feel like an ass-pull. No offense, but it just seems like the whole Cluke notion got started after some immature folks accused Luke of having a romantic relationship with a kid. It's platonic, but then again, platonic relationships are a mature subject, so....

And a derelict brother figure at that. Luke abandoned her when she needed him most, during the Carver incident.
Only Kenny stuck around and… more had her back!
Kenny is far more reliable than Luke has shown himself to be.
I'm not saying Luke may not try to help her later, however, when everything went to hell in a handbag, Kenny stayed.
I know if I see Luke again, I'm gonna chew his ass out somethin' fierce for abandoning everyone!
And if at that point, if it comes down to siding with either Luke or Kenny, I'm siding with Kenny.
And since Kenny and my Lee were pals, and Kenny thus showed his loyalty as such, thus giving him a good track record, I know my decision will be a good one.
But to be fair, if Luke is able to give a solid explanation of why he wasn't around, then I'll try to work it out with him.
Though, to be smart about it, even though I'd try to work it out with Luke, it doesn't mean I'd be trusting him anytime soon.
He'd still have to earn it again!
Well I personally am pro Kenny raising Clementine.
I was that way, while Lee, Kenny, Christa, Omid and Ben were in the attic, and my feelings haven't changed.
Now, if Kenny were to murder someone in cold-blood,( Like Lilly did to Carly), without any hint of remorse, then I'd tell him goodbye.
And one thing about sending Clementine back to Christa, the reason it wouldn't work, is cause she's dead.

You're not implying Kenny perhaps harmed Luke in some way, are you?
I'm not trying to jump the gun!
I'm just trying to understand exactly what you're saying.
After all, saying Kenny harmed Luke in some way, or visa versa, is a very serious implication.
And generally one that shouldn't be made without hard evidence.
So what exactly are you suggesting?

Edit the title. "What do you think of Clementine as Luke's guardian" is much more accurate.
On second thought, make that. "What do you think of Clementine as everyone's guardian"
We all know know-one can replace Lee.
Wha if Kenny, and this may sound stupid, killed Luke?
So, you want someone who could possibly bail the group out from the outside be caught by Caver?
Atleast We know that someone could help us form the outside.
How do you know he didn't?
Fair enough.
Think about it.
I don't trust him or really like the idea. Not that I'd hate it, though.
One thing I do know, is that when you know a child when they're little, even when they get older, you will always see them as that little kid you knew years ago.

That's another theory that's been making its way around but I think he's too important to season 2 to be killed this early and offscreen.
I agree with most of this.

Better to think of him as a guardian than a love interest.

I don't see him as her guardian. Maybe a friend, but honestly she's her own guardian now.
Yes we will.
Something tells me that that isn't his intention.
As far as Luke knew, Clem didn't know about it... Assuring that would be useless and only a risk, unless he completely trusted Clem.
Well if you say "I can't leave my friends." Kenny is surprised and hurt (maybe even pissed off). When Sarita says that the cabin group could stay with them, Kenny angrily says "NO!"
If you're pulling the entire theory where he's a pedophile... technically we have no evidence but don't mark my words. Honestly, it could happen... I just really really don't want it to.
Cluke disturbs me greatly...
Yep
Um... No. I was saying I think he intends something better, not something worse.
Sorry man. I've seen so many assholes on this forum so I can't help but jump to conclusion.
We don't know the true reason as to what happened he could've bailed or kenny couldve done something (considering he doesn't really answer you if you ask what happened to him) I wouldn't be so quick to jump the gun yet mate
There might be more than meets the eye
Even if you think Kenny murdered Luke, like Shane did Otis, I'd like to know.
Lilly had a reason to kill Carley... And showed remorse...
Anyways, I gotta know, if Kenny is the kind of guy who would do things like the door incident (which, had Lee died there, it would've been MUCH worse than the Carley situation) REALLY the right person to raise Clem?
And also, I doubt Christa is dead.
Well I guess will just have to wait and see what happens.
Hopefully Kenny is still the same good guy we knew in season 1, and hopefully Luke is alright.
