Zombie Theories?

Robert Kirkman has (somewhat jokingly) mentioned aliens could be introduced into the comic as the reason behind the zombie phenomena as a way of ending his story. Aliens drop the zombie pathogen in earths atmosphere in order to wipe out all humans while leaving most of the biosphere intact.

It actually wouldn't bug me if for some reason something like that came into the comic. In some ways, it seems like a more logical explanation than a natural one.

  • I also wouldn't completely mind if aliens were introduced as long as it was done well. In fact, Kirkman has been saying for a while that The Walking Dead will be "a completely different book" after the conclusion of All Out War... the introduction of aliens would certainly do that!

  • I always thought TWD was a very loose reboot of the 1959 movie "Plan 9 From Outer Space". Aka "The worst movie ever made". Aliens animate the dead to kill off the earths populations before humans accidentally discover the way to explode photons and destroy the entire universe to include the aliens. I must admit what ever is turning the dead into the undead can be seen under a microscope according to the graphic novel (The doctor at the CDC). Remember, live people do not turn into flesh eating zombies only the dead do. There is something about being alive that prevents the living from turning. Oxygen in the blood? Only Kirkman knows for sure and he ain't tellin'.

  • By the last comic I mean the last comic. It isn't out yet, and I doubt it will include the above. So no worries about spoilers, friend.

  • What graphic novel are you talking about. They never go to the CDC in the comics. Is there another graphic novel I haven't read?
