Lilly is part of Carver's camp (E3 spoilers)

  • Her story ended abruptly and they must have left her fate open for discussion for a reason. The general rule in these games is if you don't see someone die, they aren't dead.

Besides, I think her character was more interesting than ever when she left the group, I'd love to see her back.

  • I agree completely. Kenny's arc was perfect and he came back, Lilly's ended abruptly while her character was just getting interesting, so why can't she come back?

Lilly's end set her up perfectly for a return, more so than Kenny's exit. There is no way her story is over if Kenny's isn't.

  • Kenny's had a climax, and an epic, heartbreaking conclusion. Or so we thought.

Lilly's ended so fucking abruptly it made my head spin.

I'm sorry to repeat myself, but I just genuinely don't understand how you think Lilly's story is over but Kenny's wasn't, can you enlighten me? Sorry, I just...really can't fathom that

  • She probably followed the group, with the same plan to steal the RV in mind, or planning on attempting to get back in the group.

This doesn't make any sense if you leave Lilly on the side of the road, how did she get the RV? As interesting as it would be to have Lilly show up, it's not gonna happen.

Absolutely this. It's cool having a returning character and all, but it's annoying that it's the one that has so many crazed (and unjustified) fans.
I'll be really annoyed if he survives this season, because it would be blatant fan pandering.

I was happier thinking that Kenny was dead, I disliked his character immensely but felt that he had a well deserved and redeeming sendoff by sacrificing himself to save the others. Having him come back and already bring a load of shit and conflict with him is just making me hate him all over again.

  • Woah, is this the same Ben Paul from the other forum?

  • Just explain me. Why do you put (ep 3 spoilers) if you are already saying all in the title? '-'

  • If Lilly is coming back, I'm going to complain to Kirkman that TTG is changing TWD to Destiny Zombie.

  • Okay, so what would YOUR "not-so-fan-friendly" version of season 2 be like? Enlighten us.

If Lilly is coming back, I'm going to complain to Kirkman that TTG is changing TWD to Destiny Zombie.

  • Nothing wrong with that, unless you're not claiming other characters can't return because their 'story is over' :p

  • Also, a secondary unrelated topic to the conversation you responded to, your explanation for his survival doesn't fall on deaf ears... it just doesn't make sense.

It makes sense. At this point you're just being voluntarily pig-headed (much like your avatar, really). No matter what reason or explanation is offered, no matter how articulate or researched you simply shut it down with the same chant: "Kenny should be dead. Kenny should be dead." It's gotten annoying, it's gotten tiresome, and it's gone way beyond simply being "your opinion". I've come across your type online before; the arrogantly superior forum member who turns his nose up at what he considers to be juvenile fanservice, when in truth, the majority of season 2 has been anything BUT.

In the previous episode, Clementine was 1) indirectly responsible for Omid's death, 2) attacked by bandits, 4) attacked by zombies, 5) mauled by a feral dog, 6) thrown into a rickety shack by a group of paranoid assholes, and 7) verbally abused by a pregnant woman. That wasn't enough to satisfy your bloodlust? Seriously? Would Clem have to be sodomized in episode 3 to make you even SLIGHTLY satisfied? Even the return of a character whose "death" was ambiguous in the first place is to be sneered away as being "fanservice"?

    What's your problem, anyway?

Why wait until the end of the season to voice our opinions on his return being idiotic when it can be said now? After all it isn't that they

  • And I feel that the return of the character specifically was a shame when other characters have had much less screentime, characters who DIDN'T have a satisfying close to their arc.

The new cast had their shot in episode 1, but Telltale unfortunately made the error of introducing most of them as hysterical brutes. You might complain that Kenny's return was unfair to season 2's characters, but the fact is, NONE of them have nearly as much impact as their predecessors.

"But that's because they haven't been given a chance," you say. Really? If the original survivor group in season 1 were a bunch of trigger-happy idiots who fired a couple of bullets in Lee's direction because they mistook his black skin for charred flesh (and in their first scene with him, no less), would you be just as ready to argue they hadn't been given a chance?

  • But it was written as if it were referencing somebody. It would've made more sense if it was "locked Lee in a shed," because that's something the Season 2 protagonists did to Clementine. You said it as if Luke had shot at Clem because she was black.

In response to your first paragraph:

In S1E1, I had no emotional attachment to any of the characters except that I hated Larry. None of the others were particularly interesting to me until S1E2, and I honestly didn't get fully attached to Clementine until S1E3.

Same thing with S2 so far. I found the characters mildly interesting in S2E1 - but only in S2E2 did I start to sympathize with Nick and get attached to Luke.

And I feel that the return of the character specifically was a shame when other characters have had much less screentime, characters who DID

  • Here's the problem with that, though. Tyresse was constantly showing himself to be capable in melee fighting. Fuck, he was more capable with melee fighting than with guns, and he made some unlikely headshots. If you look at every single time Ken has been in a fight with his fists, he gets his ass whooped. Except if you let him win, because you feel bad. Or except for the one zombie who was trapped under the RV. Rick would've died tenfold if it weren't for Tyresse. Lee would've died once, but he also would've had two times where his chances were higher to live. Oh, and Shawn would be alive. So actually, if it weren't for Kenny, Lee and Clem would've met the best survivors on the planet. Lee might still be alive, if that were the case.

Kenny's survival wasn't that unlikely, even Tyreese managed worse.

  • Exactly, Lilly's character was supposed to be the same one from the comics. Now that she isn't, Telltale can bring her back. You are an idiosas

  • Actually that would be nice to see how things go between Lilly and Kenny if she comes back , will she help Clementine and the group out or wont give them a chance after what Kenny did .. (Don't think telltale gonna bring another character back tho )

  • On the one hand: having both Lily AND Kenny reappear would be some soap-opera levels of writing and would break immersion for me.

On the other hand: I want to break Lily's face, so there's that.

  • Pushing one or two zombies aside and then running away isn't impossible, even Clementine can do that easily.

  • You're right. Pushing one or two away isn't impossible. But pushing a hundred away, while they're shoulder to shoulder in a cramped alley, that is.

Word travels faster in the zombie apocalypse than you think. Clem and Christa were heading towards Wellington when season 2 began based strictly on what Christa heard second-hand, and considering how ruthlessly practical Christa is, I doubt she'd hedge her bets on a mere rumour.

The same applies to Lilly. If the security of Carver's compound has gained a name for itself (whether it's a famous or infamous name remains to be seen), a hardcore survivalist like Lilly would be drawn to such a place. If she's completely psychotic by this point, it would make even MORE sense.
