Am I the only one that thinks that I'll miss you is WAY better then I love you?

edited April 2014 in The Walking Dead

I love you is something that is used all the time and some people use it like its nothing. Some people say I love you and not show it sometimes. But, I'll miss you is something different. Its so unpredictable and yet shows that you care about someone that you love there company and wish to have it again. This isn't some sort of debate, this is just how I feel.

  • Agreed. But "Don't be afraid." is still the best option.

  • I totally agree with you :D

  • I agree. Though the lack of an I love you throughout their entire time together sort of threw me for a loop, but yeah. I miss you in those final moments was definitely a good choice.

  • is "I love you" even an option? I would have gone with "I'll miss you." either way, though.

  • I had Lee said "I'll miss you." to Clementine the first time. I have been wondering ever since why I had him said that. I think it is a different way of saying I love you. I think I had Lee said that because I will miss the two's interaction and relationship deeply. It is also a way to say good bye. It is more like a final good bye, because they will never see each other again.

I gotta stop myself here before I get too much and too teary-eyed. But in conclusion, it is a simple but very strong line in my opinion. One that hits right where the heart is.

  • That's the best option.

  • I love you I feel would be too generic and out of place so I'm glad they went with "I'll miss you." I also feel that they both carry the exact same message so there really is no point to preferring "I love you."

  • I still prefer 'Don't be afraid.' after Lee's whole 'fear is what will kill us' speech to her in episode 3.

'You can take care of yourself, see?' - 'You're strong Clem, you can do anything' - 'Keep that hair short' - 'Don't be afraid.' master race tbh.

  • I've always hated when people chose something other than "I'll miss you". Makes me want to do things to you people, the other options are just so ridiculous I even feel stupid just hearing them. They shouldn't have made his final words a choice and should have just went with "I'll miss you" only. I don't see how "Don't be afraid" is any better.

  • "I'll miss you" is the only option where clem responds to you, i think that quote resonates with her more.

  • Idk if I agree. I personally wanted an "I love you" since it was never said in the game at all, and those were their last moments. Anywho, I think saying "I'll miss u" was the way for most of the gamers to say "I'll miss lee"

  • Its icecream time again...

For me think miss you is better

Love= Appreciate them as a person

Miss you= When your not around it's not the same and also appreciate them as a person also saying very rarely said unlike the love word

If I was in Lees situation say miss you shows you can't live without Clem while love just says appreciate them as a person not appropriate in circumstance miss you is better suited

  • I am a big fan of "Show, don't tell." After five episodes of them growing together and learning from each other, the viewers knew that lee loved clem and vice versa. "I miss you" was the viewer's way for Lee to say goodbye to Clem. No "I love you" necessary because she already knew. I always choose the "I'll miss you" option over "Don't be afraid" (though it's very close) because I tell Clementine constantly she can do anything so lol

  • Because telling a little girl "I'll miss you" when she's about to shoot you in the head/leave you to die is just going to make doing so that much harder for her. I'd rather impart some meaningful advice she can carry with her to help her do what she needs to do, both in that moment and in the future.

  • even though this might seem kind of dickish, it doesn't feel right to use Lee's final words as something clem might not benefit from, don't be afraid teaches clem, well not to be afraid :P. I'll miss you (while i understand if you picked that) just seems like you're not teaching clem anything and overall making clem feel even more devastated over Lee's death. while both are good choices i do prefer don't be afraid much better

  • Precisely; and my Lee had Clementine shoot him, so I like to imagine 'Don't be afraid' was also his way of assuring her that this was what he wanted, and not something she should have on her conscience her whole life. He wants her to move on and move forward.

  • Yeah I miss you is better I mean I say I love you to my computer

    ( I know I need to get a life)
