The Killer [Discussion]
I want to talk about some things on The Wolf Among Us and I would like to know what you think about it.
(sorry for any grammar mistakes)
1st of all I want to talk about the title of Episode 4 "In Sheep's Clothing". What does it mean? In my opinion it means "Hide, blend in". This is an old phrase, used in villages. When the thieves wanted to steal sheep from shepherds, they used to put sheep skin on top of them so they blend in. So in my opinion that's the meaning. Bigby will lie low and investigate stealthily. Also I read about another perspective. Bluebeard will take Crane's place and act like the boss.
Secondly I want to talk a bout a character that I have been seeing since the early game. That character is Cryer. Red hair, freckles, male. You saw him for the first time when you first show Snow, when she went to get you after she found the head of Faith. Some people believe he is going to play an important role on the last episode (Episode 5 Cry Wolf) because they think he is The Boy who Cried Wolf. I don't know if he is The Boy who cried wolf but I am starting to believe that's him because of some new evidence found. His tie has some shepherd crooks on it. The Boy who Cried Wolf was also a shepherd. What also scares me is that I keep seeing Cryer in many parts of the game.
- Saw him while going outside after Snow found Faith's decapitated head
- While chasing Dee in Lawrence's apartment we can see him at the part when we try to move the couch
- We can see him numerous times as taxi driver (I do not know if they are using him as a rag doll or just a model)
- We can see him outside the office with Gren and Tiny Tim
- We even see him at the very start of the game when we leave the taxi and we look at Toad's house (walking down the street to the right of the screen)
To sum-up, I think it's The Boy who Cried Wolf and I believe he is going to play a prime role in the upcoming episodes. What I DON'T know is if he is the murderer.
What I also want to talk about is something I noticed. When we go to the funeral, Dum and Dee are there and they say that someone told them Crane was the killer and they have any interest on that particular boy xD. Who were the ONLY people knowing that Crane was the killer? Bigby, Beauty and Beast. We didn't tell them shit, so who's left? The couple of destruction! I don't think they are the killers, but I think they work for the Crooked Man as informers.
Also I think I know who the killer is! My strongest suspect is one of the girls of the Pudding N' Pie, Vivian! Let me tell you WHY I think she is the killer (not sure if she is but I found some fishy evidence.
- In Episode 1 Crane tells Snow to call Vivian for his massage. That shows us that Vivian knows where the rest of the girls are.
- In Episode 2 we see Vivian outside the club SMOKING. We also found a Huff and Puff in the crime scene. Crane doesn't smoke, Lily wouldn't be allowed to smoke since Snow doesn't smoke (so she would ruin the fantasy of Crane), Woody smokes but he can't be the killer because he was in custody (if you choose him as a suspect) so he could't have done that. Bigby also smokes that "Crap brand". So that leaves Vivian.
- In Episode 3, at the funeral, Vivian's card was rather...weird. "Lily. Now you will never die from indifference or lead tedious life. Goodbye sweetheart. Thanks for everything ~ Vivian." Also, she always is close to Nerissa. I think Nerissa knows that Vivian is the killer, that's why Vivian wants to be close to her. I noticed that when Nerissa was talking to Bigby at the funeral, she looked back like she didn't want SOMEONE to hear her talking to Bigby. In addition, Vivian was trying to persuade Bigby and Snow (at the club when we found that Crane was there trying the Ring of Dispel) that Crane was the killer. The last piece of evidence is what Crane said himself "Stupid girl and their preposterous schemes!".
Also I would like to ask you (if you know) who the f*** is the Butcher? I have been hearing and seeing this name. I really don't know if TB (in Lily's address book) is The Butcher. And if he is, he lives in the Woodlands!
That's what I wanted to share with you guys. See ya later

Actually that "Vivian is the killer" theory (which does hold water from my perspective) already exists: http://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/65690/stupid-girls-and-their-preposterous-schemes-my-theory/new
That theory about the Cryer is also already on this forum.
And about Dum and Dee, I don't recall them saying Crane was the killer.
I know these exist, that's why I made a sum-up about many thoughts that may be true. Also, Dee and Dum didn't actually say that he IS the killer. They said that they know we are trying to find him.
Your Vivian theory kind of fits, kudos! Since you want to discuss this, I would i to bring some evidence to the table. I have a theory the murderer is Jack, because one of the villains is named "the crooked man" ring a bell?
."JACK and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pale of water, Jack fell down and broke his crown and Jill came tumbling after"
Also, if you choose to investigate Crane's apartment you will see Jack taking money for the people of fabletown maybe he was actually stealing evidence.
Firstly, Vivian theory belongs to the author of the link I posted above and secondly Jack does appear in the comics and as far as I get he's pretty regular character there, so he's not the killer. Also Jack is from "Jack and the beanstalk".
Though cloth found on a crime scene in episode one could belong to his jeans I guess. My guess would be breaking into Crane's place is not the first time he breaks into the building and that he tore his pants while breaking into it before.
You can't be so sure, Jack could be from Jack and Jill too, like Bigby
He was from Red Riding Hood, Three Little Pigs, The boy Who Cried Wolf etc.
You are right, I looked it up and beside Jack and the Beanstalk, he also seems to be from Little Jack Horner, Jack and Jill, Jack Be Nimble, Jack Frost, Jack O'Lantern, and Jack the Giant Killer.
I remember a panel where Wolf was teasing him by saying "been climbing any beanstalks lately?" so I assumed he was from that tale only.
Still, he is no killer.
The Butcher is Dee or Dum, depending on which one sent the package. As in Episode 1 at Toad's apartment, I recall Toad saying something about" The Butchers- Dee or Dum, you have to strip them down to their johnies before you can tell which is which."
Jack's last name is Horner...does anyone know if that is a fairytale name, or a code name. That doesn't ring a bell to me. Whoever has something to share, please do.
I also remember that. Hmm, maybe The Butcher is one of the Tweedles or a new upcoming character. Don't know : /
Hmm. Your theory is interesting. TTG would make Jack the killer because he doesn't look like a killer. But maybe he is acting. Got to watch out for him.
I can verify that the Vivian theory is not my theory, but I wanted to sum-it-up with my theories because I strongly believe it. Also I want to remind you that Jack wears torn jeans in the part at the Bar in Episode 2. Go check it out and tell me what you think.
"Little Jack Horner,
Sat in a corner,
Eating a Christmas pie,
He put in his thumb,
And pulled out a plum,
And said, 'What a good boy am I!' "
There's that, he's also Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk, possibly from Jack and Jill as well? His character's supposed to be a mix of those tales from what I heard.
Hmm interesting. I don't know what to think of Jack. He seems a nice guy, but I keep thinking he is faking it and he is dangerous
Nerissa seems scared of Vivian, I think she's definitely involved.
I think Vivian tries to control Nerissa. Nerissa wants to tell us what's going on but Vivian doesn't want to. If Nerissa dies in Episode 4 I am 100% sure it's Vivian
If you ask me we don't have enough evidence yet. We don't even have major suspects. Crooked man will not have anything to do with this since it would be too easy. Jack and Bluebeard gives me the creeps. But Bluebeard would be easy either. So no idea for now.
I agree, Crooked Man has nothing to do with it. But I suspect Jack, if not for the murders for association with the Crooked Man
He's harmless, really! But he'll do almost anything to make himself a quick buck.
Er Jack is harmless and also plays a big role in the comics. The Crooked Man has his own nursery rhyme, There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile.
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile.
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,
And they all lived together in a little crooked house.
Um and btw The Crooked Man's model has been leaked, he has a weird wound on his left eye for some reason, I can't show you because it's on Telltale's forum
Of course, didn't mean to come out hostile or something like that, just felt that credit should be given where credit is due, you know?
Though I can guarantee to you that Jack is not a killer, I think it's quite possible that the cloth we found does come from his jeans.
It was just discovered the crooked man was behind the murders, even though he is not the killer, who was revealed as Georgie.
