He's not dead, Apparently the voice actor of Luke posted on his twitter that he is voicing his part in episode 3 so he's not dead...he's just missing i guess

There were files that says he survives to episode 5. Haha suck it! Kenny lives while there's no files for Luke surviving to episode 5. Luke dies and Kenny lives! Hahahahahaha!

Why is that hard for some people to understand? Kenny didn't kill him, he just "took a hike"... from walkers that separated him from everybody else.

They probably got into a heated argument, Kenny told Luke: "Take a hike," and Luke probably just went for a walk to cool off.
When Carver started taking everyone hostage, and if Clementine said: "Maybe we should find Luke," Kenny probably ignored her, figuring that finding Luke wasn't the most important thing at the moment.
