I was surprised, too. However, I also came to realize that making Clementine a protagonist made most sense - why would we teach her all that stuff as Lee, guide her forward if not to play as her later?
Balls to the walls excited. Return to the story that crippled my heart.
Wasn't too excited about her being the playable character.
I got so happy that my friends had to tell me to shut up.

I actually expected Lee to die from the beginning, and for Clem to take over. Knowing it was a redemption story for Lee, and it being The Walking Dead, I never had any doubts that he would die. From the very beginning you are teaching Clem how to survive and molding her personality with your choices, so it just seemed like the natural next step to me. When it was announced I wasn't surprised, although I was very excited for the new season.
Nobody says to Clem to shut up! NOBODY!

I wasn't really surprised. It was the only logical decision in my opinion. Who else was gonna be the protagonist in season 2? It would have either been Clem or some new guy.
