What i believe that there is no ending towards this game or comic (fk the tv show). Either humanity will be wipe out or just another day to … moresurvive. Anything else seems really cheesy and stupid, such as finding a cure or the dream like you said.
Say there is a possibility of cure, they are going to have to end it in a way we wouldn't have expected aka Last Of Us.

Yes, it's gross. But did you have to share every graphic detail? No offence, but describing child sexual abuse in detail isn't a thing which a normal person would do in a discussion.
