In the Walking Dead -universe that is a bad ending, because "they lived happily ever after" doesn't really fit into canon. Just look at the comics, all of your favorite characters die sooner or later (often sooner and in a very brutal way).
Normality is mostly just an illusion, however there are some norms which should be followed in a civilized society. I believe that you decided to break the norm for the shock value and you succeeded. Then you experienced the backlash which happens when you break the norms of the civilized society.
However it is possible to depict child sexual abuse in a work of fiction without causing an uproar, however it has to be essential for the story and you'll have to portray it very carefully. Portraying the subject matter in the way which you described would make The Walking Dead: Season Two socially (and legally) as acceptable as the Japanese rape games.

Daryl in the game, in my opinion, is bad for two reasons. One, he's already in a group currently, but granted, in the comic book universe, he isn't in that group and the game is based on the comics, not the show.
