After the apocalypse (comics spoiler)

edited April 2014 in The Walking Dead

I've just finished reading all of the comics. In the comics we learn that the zombies (i was glad to learn that they call them zombies in the comics) aren't immortal. It seems that their brains slowly rot until they lose control of their muscles and that their flesh also rots over time. Since most of the American population became infected relatively soon after the breakout, this means that there soon will be a lot less zombies. Clementine has already survived a couple of years. It may therefore be possible that she'll outlive the zombie threat.

Thought? Prayers?

First, I'd like to correct you, for the past ten or so books, they've stopped calling them zombies completely and now only use the terms roamers, walkers, or lurkers.

Secondly, that was one isolated incident, that one walker has been the only rotted one we've seen so far. It probably just got unlucky and got caught in a bunch of storms or something. There is no indication that the large population of walkers are actually rotting, and if they were, it would take years, possibly decades.

And still, whenever someone dies, they become a new walker. It will never end, the world has been changed forever, and even if the majority of walkers are killed, they'll still probably always be around.

So... Sorry to rain on your parade, but I don't think that that was anything to get hopeful about.

  • Thats bad. That could mean the end of the game.

  • Damn! Didn't know there were books as well.

P.S. We see one zombie with rotted flesh and i think two zombies with no control of their bodies.

I think we also only saw one "starved" walker.

They do that occasionally, pause for "learning about walkers" time.

In Vol. 2, "Miles Behind Us", we see a singular frozen walker.

In Vol. 10, "What We Become"(I think), we see a singular starved walker.

In Vol. 15, "We Find Ourselves"(I think), we see a singular rotted walker.

And also, yes, there are books. 21 in fact.

    • Days Gone Bye
    • Miles Behind Us
    • Safety Behind Bars
    • The Heart's Desire
    • The Best Defense
    • This Sorrowful Life
    • The Calm Before
    • Made To Suffer
    • Here We Remain
    • What We Become
    • Fear The Hunters
    • Life Among Them
    • Too Far Gone
    • No Way Out
    • We Find Ourselves
    • A Larger World
    • Something To Fear
    • What Comes After
    • March To War
    • All Out War(Part 1)
    • All Out War(Part 2) (This one is released next month, the last issue is out... Tomorrow!)

Each one contains 6 issues, they are the smallest collected versions.
