How does Clementine...
Know how to turn off a wind turbine?
I just don't get how an 11 year old girl could possibly know how to turn it off. Carlos say's "Does anyone know how to do this?", then Clementine confidently replies to him "I can do it".
Did she used to be an engineer before the world fell apart?

There was a theory that involved her dad, like he was an engineer, and may have told Clementine a thing or two.
That makes perfect sense, case closed!
Just like Carver said that Clem's dad name is STRONG.
Her dad was an engineer and turning off wind turbines was his speciality.
No, it was dumbest scene in episode. I'd like to kick writer in the balls for that.
Clementine will invent a device that ascends into the atmosphere and releases a pathogen that turns all zombies into tree stumps in episode 3. Just wait.
Well, to be honest, it isn't that much of a big deal to turn them off, but still quite surprised she was the one they let do it, not even the doctor took the initiative to try at least.
On another note must be a very old wind turbine, or a bad brand of them, I work around those all the time, and they are pretty much soundless, and they aren't supposed to spin out of control as they did in the game, but I guess a game is a game, gotta make it exciting for the player.
Gah, I'm just trying to forget about that scene. Probably the most badly written scene in the game so far.
Lets hope there are no more like it, it was a long wait for that episode yet it seemed like some scenes were rushed and not thought about, just my opinion.
Also they were ok with her doing it alone because she told them about her dad's job on the 5 day walk that we saw nothing of. Gotta hand it to the community for fixing holes in the story!
Also might want to take into account the turbine sat, probably without any repair, for 2 or so years.
Actually, we have no evidence that they even spoke during that walk. Imagine them walking five days straight in complete silence (yes, five days straight, they didn't camp either).
You work around wind turbines? The basic ones you can get out buildings or those real huge ones you see in the country side? I did hear in the news once about one going so fast in some really strong winds it caught fire, but i don't know if that's the same thing.
My feeling trying to turn off the turbine: God ! Help Me! This gonna be Hard to do!
My reaction when I put the key on the button: I...I... thanks God
I totally agree. Worst time skip ever. There were no changes in character interactions. But, we fixed this hole in the story.. so something came of it.
Episode 3 has a differetn writer, hope he has better ideas !
Hey, if it wasn't for the community. This game would be a train wreck of plot holes
It was knowledge included in the Protagonist Handbook, chapter 4, paragraph 3. Lee gave it to her upon passing the pro-tag torch.
So it isnt nick breckon? Who is it this time?
Excuse me I gotta copy/paste something over from me tumblr XD
Secretly I'm hoping there's a call back to this scene where they make a joke out of it, like Carley with the batteries. But seriously, couldn't Sarita have been there to balance it out? Like if Clementine had assisted her to see with the lighter so Sarita could operate the panel and then she accidently dropped the key and Clem helped looked for it in the grass before it was used?
And how long has the woman been there at the lodge, a couple weeks? She honestly wasn't told how to use the wind turbine in all that time? >.< Kenny you overprotective muffin.
Clementine STRONK
I'm more interested in how the fuck Lee kept that fucking blowtorch in his backpocket
Key in hole, basic natural law.
Carlos probably took one glance at it and was intimidated. Sarita shrugged, too, so we can't rule her out. I mean, how did she even start the thing in the first place if she can't remember how to turn it off?
It would make a lot more sense if Clem said something along the lines of, "I can do it. My dad was an engineer." or at least make the scene slightly less questionable. How am I supposed to remember that Ed was an engineer from a single sentence of dialog in the last season on the very first episode?
Then again, that would be like Travis saying, "My dad was special forces, I know what I'm doing!"
And the car battery, don't forget that XD
I was excited to finally get a decent puzzle... boy was I wrong
Carlos is a genius!
Yes
Ugh, I hated that scene
Travis: My dad was special forces! I know how to survive being eaten alive/shot in the stomach and the head!
Me: My dad was in the Air Force for 20 years! I know what I'm doing!
PLOT TWIST: Travis survived because his dad was special forces.
The guy who is writing Episode 3 is the guy who wrote Episode 1 of TWAU I think.
But dat finale...
Yes, Pierre Shorette.
He also survived because he knew what he was doing
Why am I getting feels from this Also another feel thing... if you tell Carver at the cabin that it's "Just me and dad", he asks what his name is and she says Ed... which was her dad's name ;_;
Guys... it's not rocket science. Although yes, she probably learned a few tricks from her dad but Clem's smart and she knows she's smart.
Is that actually how you turn a wind turbine off? Simple key in the shutoff thingy? I get the impression that a nuclear reactor could work like that as well, but I'm not sure if that's just a pop culture idea or correct.
My reaction when I first heard that I should turn off the wind turbine:
-Finally! A difficult puzzle!
1-2 minutes after:
-JESUS, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!
Never forget the shovel.
