What worries me is that he says "its shaping up" did something go wrong? Was there a bug that messed it up and there trying to fix it and that's why its taking so long?! Or is it that there practically done with it and adding the finishing touches?!

I think you're over thinking it. "Shaping up" does not imply something went wrong, it just means it's coming together nicely and it's almost done. 2 months is the expected development time for Telltale episodes lately.
Probably last minute fixes, patches, or re-done scenes. Can't release a buggy product, can they?
Season 1's disappearing save files would disagree...
