Luke seemed to care too, but everybody else just looked too worried to mourn Pete. Maybe we'll see some actual mourning in ep3, specially if Nick and Alvin are dead as well.
that's sumthin that's bugged me, too. carver asked about pete when u meet him in the cottage, but doesn't say a thing about it once u get to the lodge. the logical reason behind this is after meeting clem, he (or a tracker in his group) went to see just where she came from and found pete. the way these people (cabin group) acted has just been soo... stupid. luke and alvin went looking for clem, pete, and nick with no idea where to look, u run in and tell carlos and rebecca u were by the river, and they storm off to get luke and alvin. without having the slightest idea where they might actually be by now, and leave 2 girls alone in a building that they, depsite all their warnings and paranoia, had left UNLOCKED, while sum1's hunting them.
anyway, point is, they may have been able to retrieve pete before he got shot (provided you left him in the van, where one would think he would be "safe"). that's assuming the group didn't deal with pete before returning/finding nick. given how carver's group dealt with the horde at the lodge, the scene is almost too clean to have been done by carver. but if carlos/rebecca knew where to find luke and alvin, and made the trip to find pete first, and killed him (so as not to put nick through pete dieing AND turning, after what happened to his mother), before moving on to the river to look for nick, then that could be why they really weren't concerned by his death, beyond "we need to move on." they already knew what had happened to him.
whole thing just feels strange, but i'd say it's most likely that it was the cabin group that offed pete, or atleast put the bullet in his head.
darwinism says these people shoulda been picked off months ago, but there are hints of some rather devious goings on, too.
Every one who been saying carver shot Pete, I just remembered somthing, he asked Clem "have you seen my group? Couple of farm boys, A OLD MA… moreN, Spanish guy and his girl, quiet one, big black guy, and a pretty little pregnant lady." So that means, carver doesn't even know Pete's dead!?!?

They do. They have a things much more important to do like surviving, I'm not saying Pete's death was meaningless but you can't just cry while zombies are around you.
his stomach was ripped open, and the gun shot wound to the head was what they remarked about. he had no gun, he looked to have been dragged around behind the rock, at the very least, there were questions about the situation that weren't addressed and could be assumed to be that they either already knew what happened, or assumed it to be the guy they don't really wanna talk about in front of clem for whatever stupid reason.

I take back what I said about nick being no.2 Ben, because unlike Ben nick had good reasons, Clem did look bitten, and Matthew did point his gun at nick. So I take back what I said.
i forget who it was, but somebody threw up in the meat locker, didn't they? that's something. besides, i can see that particular event as something they'd like to have locked firmly away in their mind, never to darken their thoughts again. i don't see a group conversation of "oh my god, i still can't believe we ate mark" lasting very long or happening at all, unless there's LOTS of alcohol involved. at least he got his revenge and saved katjaa, for all the good it did her.
the huddle around clem was just another stupid thing done by the group, anyway...
this girl may be bitten, and could turn on us at any moment. we should all huddle around her, barely out of arms reach in case this shotgun in her face doesn't take care of her.

With everything that was going on, it probably hadn't sunk in yet. Also, Clem looked VERY upset, but I couldn't tell whether it that was sadness or anger/disgust at Walt. Probably a little bit of both.

(?) The group won't remember this.

Luke: nick... He's dead... So fuck him.
(?) nick will be the only one who will remember this because no one else gave a fuck.
