Why Carver wont kill Carlos.

Ok, so we all know that Carlos is a doctor, right? We don't know yet, but what if Carlos is the only doctor in Carver's Camp? Someone will have to deliver the baby and check if it's healthy and everything else. Carlos may die, but not until the Rebecca's baby is born.

    I think because Carlos was the one who took them away from Carver's camp. But I'm not sure if Carlos is the leader or Luke.

    Carver may not kill Carlos at all, but nothing is guaranteed. If Carver is as smart as the group is claiming, he will keep people of value around until they become more trouble than they are worth to retain. With most of the human population wiped out, people with skills become even more valuable. Doctors, engineers; people who have trade skills such as electrical, carpentry, etc. are now very valuable people to have in a group. For Carver to casually dispose of people with these types of skills that could end up benefit himself, and his people, is short-sighted.

    It is more likely that Carlos will die trying to escape again, rather than no longer being useful to Carver.

    Walter stated that everyone is becoming political, and Carver's community is no exception. To have order within the chaos is necessary for survival. His community has its own laws which people must abide by or face the consequences. At this point, we can only speculate based on the perspective of the cabin group and Carver's reactions. Carver reminded Alvin that there is a process to settle disputes, if you decide to remain and give up rather than search for Kenny and Luke.

    Knowing what those rules are, and the degree of punishment one will receive based on the severity of the offense, should be explored in detail. We may become more surprised, particularly if the cabin group proposed, enforced, or amended the laws--until there was a conflict of interest.

    As we know, there are three sides to each story: two of the opposing stance, and one (somewhat) neutral observer. The opposing sides will do whatever is necessary to convince a person that they are right. The third party who is not as invested in the matter, in general, has a less subjective view. We just have to wait and see.
