I'd say it'd actually be the best option in this scenario, too. Have Clem make a little speech about how they're all useless with their constant disagreements and infighting, and walk off and go her own way rather than side with either of them.
She's always sort of been the emotional center of the group, so most of them would probably change their minds and follow her instead. Success. :3
