Why does Carver's group have AK-47s?

7.62x39mm isnt exactly a common round in the US, on the other hand 5.56mm/.223 you could find anywhere from dead soldiers to the trunks of cop cars to unlooted sporting goods stores. And there has to be a surplus of M16s and M4s laying around after the zombie apocalypse. But this is a just a game afterall and AKs look cool.

  • Probably bought a shipment from Russia. Because, you know, Russia survived the apocalypse.
  • Turnips and vodka are deffinantly the cure.

  • I would not pay attention to what gun's they use, using AKs just look better and make's Carver group look more deadly
  • Maybe Carver have a Ammo Factory back at the Camp?
  • No, when zombies bite us Russians, we don't turn into zombies, the zombies turn into Russians.

  • Does that mean there's a chance of Russian Apocalypse?

On the contrary, AK-47s, SKS and Mosins rifles are very popular in USA, mainly because their ammo is quite cheap (soviet army surplus).

Just go to youtube and search "sks carbine" or "mosin rifle", you'll see,
  • Да! The Russian apocalypse starts four years after the zombie apocalypse, and trust me...you think the zombie apocalypse was bad? You have no idea.

  • They're very popular with private gun owners but i dont think they would be nearly as common as guns chambered for NATO standard and their civilian equivalents.

  • Maybe not, but they're also way easier to use and maintain. A child soldier can drop his AK in the mud and expect it to work or field strip the gun with only his hands, whereas NATO rifles tend to be fickle and difficult to maintain.

  • I cant argue that but there wouldnt exactly be a shortage of extras or parts.

  • Carver's group are Terrorists from Counter Strike.
  • I figured that the AK's are more to intimidate other survivors into submission, as opposed to being used strictly to shoot walkers. Plus, AK-47's are a lot more fun to shoot than Glocks and revolvers! :)

  • Your right they should of been more accurate and used AR-15s or something else that uses .223, This is no time for make believe we are dealing with the zombie apocalypse.
  • I loved that game when i played it in 2000.

  • In fact, forget I said anything. It was a just a small comment, not worthy of a discussion.

  • My bad. My uncle would criticize my lack of knowledge of the Russian language and then kick my ass if he was here.
