Do We Still Think Sarah's Mentally Challenged?
Because there was a lot of speculation on that prior to Episode 2, and it seems to have died down. Buy now she seems normal enough to me.

Still, I don't really think there's anything wrong with her.
I mean... a lot of people who actually HAVE Asperger's identify with her, and consider her representation for fans on the autism spectrum. It's not so much a theory about her as it is also people wanting to see characters who they can relate to. Much like how gay fans were excited to see Walter and Matthew, fans who are neuroatypical are looking to Sarah as their representation.
Carlos isn't exactly trying to shelter Clementine--it's not just something he feels like he needs to do with every child. There would need to be something inherent about Sarah that would make him say "she isn't like you, she's different."
She also backs Clem up when she says she tried to lock the door.
And if you say "You told me to distract her!" , she gets really upset and yells at her dad about how he's always treating her like an idiot. It seems that she does notice that Carlos treats her like she's not capable of doing anything.
Really, I think she's normal, the one with a problem is Carlos, trying to shelter her so much, treating her like she's never going to grow up.
Her "problem" which causes her to "cease to function" seems to be that she has severe panic attacks under pressure.
Had he not met Chuck and taken his advice, Lee might have became similar to Carlos.
There's that word again. I sincerely doubt that Sarah's autistic or anything of the sort. What's going on with her is that she likely has a lot of anxiety problems, but it's not known at this point to whether she had those problems before the apocalypse, or whether it was entirely Carlos' fault for her behavior. And 'mentally challenged' shouldn't be confused with Asperger's.
Seriously, where did people get the idea that she's autistic? One of the mods on the Walking Dead wiki edited it? Because that makes COMPLETE sense.
There's nothing wrong with people wanting to think that a fictional character is like them. Even if it may not necessarily be canon, you don't need to tell people they're "wrong" for just wanting to relate to a character. It's the same reason I believe Nick has depression, because I've suffered from that and I like to think that his brain works the same way as mine because it comforts me to have a character I can relate to. That's not a bad thing.
Listen. You're not a psychologist, you're not a writer for Telltale, you're not a person living with autism. You don't know jack. You're just a kid who read Wikipedia--not even a valid source, for Christ's sake, don't you listen to your teachers? You can't state anything as a fact here.
Get over yourself and let fans with autism have their fucking headcanons.
Honestly, we don't have much of a known history with her aside from a few interactions, but I'm sure episode 3 will reveal a lot more.
