    Yes and no.

Yes because it would have been kickass, no because it would be way too happy and I've come to expect misery.

And I've learned over the years that if there's a dog in a book/movie/game it's going to die.
  • No. I saw my next meal.
  • I hoped not. Nothing against dogs, though.

Whenever I think of a dog companion or something in a game I always see it as a gimmick. Or I think of AI Fish.
  • Heh, yeah. I thought she was going to have a new pet for at least until the end of the episode. I knew it was going to die but not the way they did it. This is why we can't have nice things.
  • yes i thought it was sweet that Clementine made a friend with the dog, it was sad how the dog dies ):
  • I thought Sam was gonna be like Dogmeat. You better get that fucking reference.Lol
  • Fallout right?

  • I thought that for a few minutes. Then I remember how depressing Season 1 was.

Not really. I knew he was going to die, but I did not expect it to be like *that*.
  • I didn't think he would die, but I also didn't think he'd be sticking around for too long either, like maybe he'd run off somewhere or w/e, so when he actually was going to die it was one of the hardest parts for me personally in that whole episode, because I have a dog irl that looks similar to him and idk it really got to me. xD;
  • your avatar of Clementine is very cute!!!

  • Well, in a way he did; they were both killed by fences...

  • I was like, "OHHHHHH it's going to be a kid and dog game!" 5 minutes later I realized how naive I truly was.
  • How did Dogmeat die by a fence?

  • It really depends on the player - you can technically keep him all the way to the end (though I think The Master can kill him in one or two turns if I remember). It was either mentioned in Fallout 2 or one of the game files but the canon is that Dogmeat ran into one of the electric fences at the Mariposa Military Base.

  • Well, considering I could play fetch with him and stroke him and be all playful with him I was thinking I found an awesome best friend.

Then the "thing" happened. Poor Sam.
  • No because I was making sure to be realistic on how telltale really is ;)

I thought maybe she did, but I kinda hoped not. Dogs are cute and all, hell I have one, I just don't really dig the whole 'dog companion' thing in fiction. Probably a little closed minded of me, but I guess I haven't found myself hugely 'wowed' by that kinda concept in the past.

That's not to say I wanted it dead though, poor thing.

I thought that I would have to kill him and eat him. It seemed like it was heading in that direction. Clem was hungry and looking for food, then when she found the knife she said "Don't worry we won't go another night without food." Sam being a potential companion for the episode didn't even cross my mind.
  • I was like, "no way, a dog! What an awesome idea!" But then, yeah...
