I did too, but the whole things was tricky. The prompt disappears, so I guess only folks like you and me who REALLY wanted him dead kept on mashin'. :S
That statistic makes more sense now. I had thought maybe people felt like they owed him for stealing his junk. It didn't occur to me that the prompt disappeared, I could see him struggling so I kept mashing.
I was so busy mashing the button I didn't even realize the prompt was gone, if I had seen it I'd probably stop and then Clem would do it instead. It isn't that people didn't want to kill him, it's probably because of the prompt.
